AshVilla
If we play 5-3-2 again i think ill watch Bargain Hunt instead As for Vlaar's injury If he is not passed fit for the West Ham game maybe we should appoint a QC and demand the FA have the fixture rearranged until he is Edited February 7, 2014 by AshVilla
AntrimBlack
Thought Carroll was banned?? He is banned, regardless of their legal shenanigans. If we beat west ham on sat and they go to court and get a ruling in their favour, will we have to play them again Well, they are a London team, so probably yes. Rovers13
3-5-2 would be great for the city match, maybe Chelsea at home too. Besides that id prefer not to see it.
Pilchard
I wonder how long he'll be out for this time. Not signing a centre back in January was criminal.
MessiWillSignForVilla
I think he'll be back for the Cardiff game, Newcastle at least, his injury doesn't sound too serious, I think it was caught just in time so that it didn't become a real problem. Pembers
Basically, if Vlaar doesn't play, we lose.
ArteSuave
They need to call in a witchdoctor or make a sacrifice to a volcano or some shit. We need Vlaar on the pitch.
Haito
Without Vlaar in the back line we are a defeat waiting to happen. Clark/Baker as a central pairing are terrible. The fact we never got in a centre half in January is inexcusable. Okore even if playing again shortly will not be match sharp and is not experienced in this league and with Vlaar very prone to injuries its a gamble Lambert should not have taken. nobler
It has got to the point where we might as well just forfeit the game when he's not playing and just take the 3-0 loss. Edited February 8, 2014 by nobler
markavfc40
It was always a gamble not bringing in adequate cover in January for an injury prone Vlaar. It didn't have to be a world beater or someone as good as Vlaar. It just needed to be someone better than Baker and who had a bit of experience as Clark looks half the player when he is the senior centre back. The failure to bring in adequate cover has hit us hard so far and if it continues to we will find ourselves in deeper shit than we already are. It could cost us over the next few months - leading to "that thing that shall not be named".
VillaChris
Yep I thought our back 4 would be o.k today but they didn't have a clue today, especially the shambles of playing offside in the first. West Ham are hardly known for their counter attacks yet twice Jarvis sprung clear and should've scored and you also had the chance where Bertrand collided with the post. We really need Ron out there on Tuesday.

Popular Post Mantis
Updated table. The figures got even more disparate. Points per game ratio stretched out across the season (rounded up): With Vlaar - 53 Without Vlaar - 22 With him we're a decent if unspectacular side. Without him we're not even Premier League standard - it's that simple. We desperately need him back for the Cardiff game otherwise it's basically a guaranteed defeat.

foreveryoung
Its hiis leadership more than his play. Big problem with this team since Lambert came is no leadership no captain. I miss Petrov for this reason. Not a great player but leadership A1! Edited February 8, 2014 by foreveryoung
