Robbie09
Just out of curiosity, do you know any other players who are capable of pulling the creativity and flair as Ireland is who'd be on half the wages he's on? James Morrisson, Craig Gardner, Michael Chopra How longs a piece of string Have you been drinking?
Cizzler
0 goals 0 assists so far under lambert That includes 6 pre season games & tranmere Who do you think got the assist for Herd's goal against Tranmere then :?. Your perpetual vendetta against Ireland is so boring, it hurts.
Swerbs
Maybe CI is Ireland's gran?
CI
Think I will park it for 3 games - Southampton, Ci£y & WBA See what his stats are after that Or indeed if he's creating chances that are being missed we'd have to look at that too
Delphinho123
Our best player today, as he is for a lot of games and has been for 12 months. Why did he come off? Was he injured? Badly need him in the side as KEA and Holman look incapable of making a pass at times.
AVFCforever1991
Only assume he was injured, if he is not, then it was a terrible sub by Lambert and got it horribly wrong. I take back what I said at half time about Ireland, should have kept him on
AshVilla
I really hope it was an injury or it was tactical suicide on behalf of Lambert We failed to string 2 passes together in the 2nd half and lost the midfield completely Clearly our best player in he first half
heffoman
Said at half time he was our best player and it was a strange decision to take him off. Hope he was injured as if he wasnt it was a huge mistake and might have a bigger effect.
Big_John_10
Surely he was injured because it was a ridiculous decision if not.
Gentingthereslowly
It was definitely an injury, no way he would of been replaced... he was the best player in the first half... Regardless of what people think of Ireland, today showed that if lambert if to continue with this diamond formation, Ireland is an integral part of it. -He is the link man between midfield and attack... there was simply none with him off -he forces defenders to sit deeper to pick him up which takes a man out of their attacking options -he makes clever runs in behind (like the one for bannans volley, holmans misplaced pass to him and the ball in from KEA he miscontrolled) -Most importantly he harasses the opposition from a position very high up the pitch which makes it very hard for teams to settle on the ball and build from the back -he trys passes others arn't afraid to try (nearly slipped bent through twice today, on another day these stick and its a goal. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't excellent today, or even very good but he was the best we had out there, working hard for the team and I feel the role he plays for us, specifically in that formation is seriously under appreciated by a large percentage of the fans. Rob182
I wasn't that impressed with him in the first half, to be honest. Maybe it was the poor stream at Rococo, but he appeared slow to intercept passes and lazy with his own passing.
jon_c
Broke his arm apparently. Though didn't see when he'd have done it.

VillaChris
Not what we needed at all, Bannan fails miserably i my eyes when he's entrusted to be our creative spark and to link attack with midfield so I'd probably play Gabby out wide tbh.
