hogso
Villa fans are being advised that all tickets for the Community Shield will be allocated to the two participating teams - Manchester City and Chelsea. Villa were delighted with the news that our stadium had been selected for the big showpiece game in place of Wembley on Sunday August 12. But claret and blue supporters will not be able to purchase tickets for the match as they are being sold to supporters of City and Blues via their own clubs. Villa will not be selling any tickets for the match. Unfortunately, Villa season card holders and supporters will have no entitlement for tickets to this fixture. In terms of hospitality, we are currently finalising agreements with the FA and Club Wembley. At this point we are only able to field enquiries and will call interested parties back as soon as the plans are complete. sauce tl;dr - no general sale 'neutral' tickets. Maybe there will be ones available with Chelsea or Citeh
TRS-T
Chelsea - "We will receive 13,581 tickets for the game" Man City - "The club has received an allocation of 13,700 tickets across the Trinity Road Stand and North Stand and Doug Ellis Stand of Villa Park" So looks like Chelsea are getting the Holte End. briny_ear
The club are delighted to confirm that a long-standing tradition of hosting marquee games will continue when Villa Park plays host to The FA Community Shield sponsored by McDonald'sMcDonalds? How I despise (a) all this commercialisation of sport and ( sponsorship by companies whose products are basically anti-fitness. Nice we've got the Community Shield though. hogso
For anyone who might be interested in going to this, Man City have sold out, but Chelsea currently have their tickets on general sale, so no membership or anything required.

nazvfc
So that's 27,000 odd tickets to the fans - the rest go to the bods and suits - typical! That's the FA for you!

hogso
I'm hearing of lots of unsold tickets Neither team have sold their allocation at this stage As I said, Citeh have. Their fans have been told to use Witton, where as Chelsea 'have' Aston. Sucks for them as that'll mean a longer wait for the train back to New Street, I guess. kidlewis
Are we going to be making any money out of this? On food and drink, tickets? Do we have to pay for security etc? Or is it like the ECB do for cricket and rent the ground for the day for a set figure

TRS-T
For all their global fans on Facebook and all their supporters in Hong Kong etc, Chelsea's English support is poor when compared to Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal. Tottenham probably have a bigger English fanbase than them.
