Craigy1874
Ha ha report on sky sports im sure has just came from this thread! New customers putting bets on, £20,£10,£5. :-)
pacbuddies
I don't think it's as cut & dry as we all think He'll want his own team etc, will they come too? I reckon if we sold one or two of our overpriced tossers we could probably buy the whole club!
JulieB
Eeek if this comes off TT will be an absolute legend... the bookies must be keeping an eye on VT because they got stung over Randy's flight to Corsica last Summer and Houllier's appointment, which soon got sussed out! Still makes me chuckle, when I think about it. One of those days you just never forget...
wiggyrichard
So he is being unveiled tomorrow, or he is arriving for talks tomorrow? That latter i would assume but who knows?!?! I cant see Lerner sending his jet over there at a cost of circa $20,000 (according the man who broke all this) just for a chat and a cup of coffee and the potential of him turning us down! Makes me think that contact was made weeks ago ie. after the Bolton the game. And this is just tying up the loose ends.
Milenko27
OSG quote of him staying at Molde was indeed about the wolves apointment of Solbakken, but OSG made the statement last Saturday, OSG has earlier this year been linked with Blackburn, Portsmouth and Wolverhampton according to norwegian media. kingysilvers
It seems a bit unusual for our typically shy owner to park his private jet somewhere that was going to cause such obvious speculation. Also, given what happened with Martinez last year I would of expected things to be kept well under wraps until there was at least an understanding that things move forwards. JulieB
What would be nice about this appointment is that perhaps it would show that Lerner & PF have been doing their homework & talking to football people. OSG wouldn't be an obvious choice at all, but it might well be a footballing choice. Personally if Paul Lambert is indeed another MON I had my doubts that Lerner would want him at VP. He'd want someone who didn't model himself on Brian Clough methinks - just the opposite. It is a gamble, as with any appointment...but it also might turn out to be a good gamble. At least it's someone who might unite the club & the fans & what's more might leave the door open to us brining in some top talent from Norway & Scandanavia. Because as I said earlier their players are brought through the academies without a WAG culture.

deeps
Watching this YouTube video of him. Like the guy a lot. I'd support him 100% if he gets it but I don't know if we are maybe a big step to quick for him.

Maybe the Norwegians have just started up some new 'Park & Ride' scheme for jet owners that we didn't know about!

LoughboroughLion
I watched that video that has been posted numerous times on this thread, and regardless of how much I know about the Norwegian League, the things that strike me is how likeable OGS seems and his potential to be a great manager is instantly recognisable. The style of football he tries to install in his teams will be a change for the better at Villa Park, and he seems to want a tight knit group of players, coaches and involve the academy as much as possible. Roll on I say.
