VillaChris
Just amazed he's suckered another manager into starting him. Steve Bruce really should know better. Ridiculous he's getting in ahead of McCormack and also Kodjia who has to play out wide.
PaulC
Yes he's surely being picked on past reputation. He might be shedding weight but his touch is so poor and his pace isn't what it was.

ender4
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/dec/15/anti-sports-personality-year-awards-2016 Quote The Anti-Sports Personality of the Year awards 2016 Quote Gabriel Agbonlahor Advertisement The Aston Villa striker and former club captain gave us perhaps the least distinguished season in the history of Premier League football as his team slumped out of it, and has failed to redeem himself since. So far in this calendar year he has started six games, scored one goal, been stripped of the captaincy, been booked once, and been the subject of one club inquiry after he was photographed smoking from a shisha pipe during a holiday in Dubai, and almost immediately another after photographs emerged of him, hours after Villa’s relegation was confirmed, apparently downing shots of alcohol in a London hotel room strewn with used vials of laughing gas. Then in April he was placed on a two-week fitness regime after reporting a stone overweight, and by October there had been so little improvement in his condition that he was put into a six-week fitness regime. Since then there appears to have been something of a transformation, with Agbonlahor losing over six kilos in those six weeks and returning at least to the fringes of the Villa team. “He’s desperate to go and prove that he’s got something to offer,” says Steve Bruce. It’ll take a lot more hard work for his reputation to recover from the horrors of 2016. Edited December 15, 2016 by ender4

rodders0223
Unfortunately you can lose the weight but you cannot turn back the clock. He has wasted the last of his peak years being in ridiculous shape.
Guest
I hear Gabby is a big fan of Westwood. Because Westwood being...erm, average and harmless, takes pressure off Gabby for being far less worse - crap, arrogant and as hard working as a dead mouse. Brumstopdogs
Bruce promised changes to the side for this weekend - it would be very surprising if Gabby isn't one of those to lose his place! Michael118
He is still massively overweight and doesn't look mobile, agile or energetic enough. If you take 10-15% off any player's performance which is at least what you are losing when you are in the shape Gabby is in anybody would be struggling. I would still use him as an impact sub or sparingly when required but needs to focus on getting back to 100% fitness. One of the things I noticed in the goal was the fact he wasn't moving into space for a cross goal pass but was stood behind his marker, hiding.
