TRS-T
As soon as Small Heath became Birmingham City we should have become Birmingham Villa. They really do a poor job of carrying the city's name. Every league title, European Cup and FA Cup brought back to Brum has been do so by us. All they have contributed is a couple of League Cups. So anyway, what other clubs are not named after their respective town or city? I can think of: Aston Villa (Birmingham) Celtic (Glasgow) Rangers (Glasgow) Heart of Midlothian (Edinburgh) Hibernian (Edinburgh) Everton (Liverpool) Port Vale (Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent) Notts County (Nottingham)
The_Rev
Arsenal (London) Chelsea (London) Fulham (London) Queens Park Rangers (London) Tottenham Hotspur (London) Crystal Palace (London) Millwall (London) West Ham United (London) Brentford (London) Charlton Athletic (London) Leyton Orient (London) AFC Wimbledon (London) Barnet (London) Dagenham & Redbridge (London) Do I win a prize? The_Rev
Everton had already been covered. Lets add Manchester United (Stretford, Lancashire) to the list too. Also, Notts County are in Nottingham, Nottingham Forest are outside in the borough of West Bridgford. The River Trent acts as the city limits of Nottingham, and the City Ground is on the south bank (map) FWIW, Aston didnt become a part of Birmingham until 1911. We had already won most of our shit by then.

Woodytom
I thought this was going to be teams actually not named after a place Celtic and Rangers both have Glasgow in there name. Midlothian is a place Hibernian is a fair one, as is port vale The rest are all places.

The_Rev
Celtic and Rangers both have Glasgow in there name. No they dont. They are known as The Celtic Football Club and Rangers Football Club respectively. Queens Park have no reference to Glasgow in their name either. St Johnstone isnt a place, the club play in Perth. Raith Rovers play in Kirkcaldy (Raith isnt actually a place) and like Raith, nobody has ever danced on the streets of Total Network Solutions either.
