All seems good, actually.

Not to take anything away from Treyarch but they get a little fortunate that IW have **** their last 2 games up, meaning that all it takes for them to be succesful is not be IW.

A lot of pople didn't like Black Ops, though. It's not the 14 year old quick scopers game of choice.

I still think MW2 was the best game in the series. They might have made MW3 in the offices that Infinity Ward used to use, but it wasnt really Infinity Ward who made the game was it?

That's true, I think IW would have made at the very least better maps than those in MW3. Althought I don't know how much involvement IW had, I mean, their name is still on the game, and Robert Bowling still tweeted about every detail with insane enthusiasm.

22? Sigh. With any luck the support streaks have left the game though, and with kills now being the only way to get killstreaks the insane amount of air support/kill streaks in general should be down

You are going to be in for a shock when you hear about scorestreaks instead of killstreaks then. :D

Robert Bowling was a PR guy. A hype man. A cheerleader. He had about as much to do with the actual making of the game as General Krulak had with the picking of the Villa team. The real talent at Infinity Ward would have been West & Zamplella and the 50 or so other guys who all left the company after the shit with Activision. They all walked into new jobs instantly too. It will be very interesting to see what their new game is.

Nope. I expect it will be either be a launch title for the next gen consoles or something that at least gets released in the first six months of the new consoles.

I know that, but my point is if he stayed, how much of the IW team stayed too?

 I meant scorestreaks.

I was talking about killstreak kills not adding to others.

Capping flags (Amongst many other things)will help you get your killstreak rewards now so I was just letting you know that it won't just be kills that get you them . In theory you could get attack dogs without ever killing somebody If the rumours are true.

Of the core development team? Hardly any. Bowling would have had next to nothing to do with them anyway, his job was more to do with marketing than development. He is only really famous because he did interviews with the press and ran the IW Twitter account. I wouldnt be surprised if most of his work was away from the IW offices where all the drama happened.

I played MW2 a lot (my first CoD played from launch day), but it's so broken. 4, Waw and BO didn't have anything that was particularly game-breaking, so they're all above it for me. It did have some very cool things about it (new killstreak system, pro perks, great maps) but the actual way it played was poor.

As Rino said before, Treyarch have to do nothing at all really. IW/whoever thinks of these cool new ideas, but **** up the game, Treyarch just copy the ideas with minor adjustments and have solid gameplay.

OT but: What was the deal with the whole IW/Activision thing anyway? I never really understood what went on.

It was over several things, mostly money and creative freedom though. Activision appear to be terrible people to work for, they wanted Infinity Ward just to crank out WW2 game after WW2 game. Infinity Ward wanted more creative freedom (they had to fight hard to get COD4 to be a modern warfare game) and they wanted more money in the form of royalties from sales rather than just a salary. They were entitled to it too, it was their game after all. Activision just own the branding. IW were also very unhappy that Treyarch were brought in to work on Call of Duty games, there are quite a few very noticeable "**** you" gestures to Activision in both COD4 and MW2 if you know where to look. There are a ton of articles about the dispute and the court case if you search on Google. Both sides will claim they won, Activision still get to make $$$ from Call of Duty, but they had to pay ex Infinity Ward guys an absolute **** ton of cash in compensation.
