redrum
Two young Irish players to consider Paul McShane - 2 million max - the next paul mcgrath - aged 20 - just made his republic of ireland debut against czech republic, man of the match award, had a highly successful loan period at brighton last year. Anthony Stokes(Arsenal) - about 1.5 million - striker - 11 goals in 10 games on loan to falkirk. SPL's top scorer this season - just 18 years old. redrum
todorov? no thanks Phew. I'd be very worried if we signed him. He's not a player to take us forward, IMO. Isn't he just sh**e? :? Huntelaar seems interesting but can we get him? If we're still in the top 6 come january then I guess we can. Geremi is another good shout but less possible, I think. Maloney or Milner is almost for certain, I think. I'm not too sure about maloney - he reminds me of julian joachim a bit
David-Copenhagen
Huntelaar is the kind of player we should aim at - has the right age and looks to be a real goalscorer.
Hanky
Todorov has been mentioned! I would just like to say, 'No thanks'. Wouldn't mind Huntelaar and we certainly need a right back but I'm not sure who would fit the bill. Geremi Definatly love to have Geremi at Villa but Chelsea have been playing him regularly recently so I doubt he will want ot come to us.

He seems to be one player they would be most disappointed to lose. More so than Petrov, who we're happy with...

Adbo9
one goal? averages over 25 league goals in every league he's played in, albeit in a lower standard, but every step-up in class hes made, hes carried on scoring goals, now hes got 9 in the championship so far, for the bottom team........... i think eastwood is worth a shout !!!! PauloBarnesi
Eastwood has issues; would he actually want to come to the Midlands? When he was at West Ham his record of attending was ‘sporadic’. Sounds like he wants to stay where he is. Where would we play Smith? Upfront? in the Middle? bickster Posted November 14, 2006 Moderator Share Posted November 14, 2006 I agree Mr Barnes, I don't see how Smith fits into the Villa's patterns of play that MON seems to have been geting us to play when the squad have been fit enough to manage it
villab0y
As with all MON signings I trust him 100% with whoever he decides to buy, loan, debutise, call back, whateer. I trust his decision.
Condimentalist
I'd love Smith here but he's not an out and out goalscorer and neither is he a target-man.

Rocafella
Alan Smith is very passionate and extremely liked by his fellow players, just look at the "For U Smudge"-thingy when Utd won the cup-final last season. I think he would be a great player to have both for the players and the fans, but would he go right into our team? Yes he is better than Angel I think, but not for that exact role.
