bickster Posted March 31, 2012 Moderator Share Posted March 31, 2012 Paul Hewson Dave Evans Adam Clayton Larry Mullen I think most of us read that as Midget knob Effects pedal knob Simpleton knob Merely Adequate knob Not really Biggest band in the world for a reason They're good They're only the biggest band in the world for people who care about such bollocks They really aren't very good, in fact I saw a band of much more talented musicians doing covers down the pub last night. If you mean you like them, you're welcome to have no taste, you won't be alone
Qwpzxjor1
I'm with Bicks on this. Jushua Tree and Achtung Baby were decent albums, but not really better than decent, and everything they've done since has been pretty poor. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was actually terrible. Not sure you can judge a talented band on just 2 good albums **cough** Stone Roses **cough** OK OK, Bono is just an annoying prick.

mjmooney Posted March 31, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted March 31, 2012 GK - Keith Moon CB - Jack Bruce LW - Jimi Hendrix RW - Jimmy Page ST - Jim Morrison Subs John Bonham John Entwistle Eric Clapton Rory Gallagher Keith Relf So so many people I like I've had to leave off, even with the sub bench cheat.Well your first team is a winner, and pretty much exactly the one I would choose for a classic rock lineup (maybe not Morrison, but he'll certainly do). Your reserve team is also excellent - except for... KEITH RELF? Are you kidding??? The Yardbirds were a fine finishing school for lead guitarists, but Relf was aterrible singer - the very definition of 'weedy'!
veloman
Lead Vocalist - Michael Jackson Oh dear, that really is funny! Why? Child molester or not Off the wall was funky as hell! Jeez with those session men (Lee Ritnour/George Duke/ J R Robinson et al I would sound funky. ps Thank God I am not the only one who is convinced U2 are simply a good pub band. mjmooney Posted April 1, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted April 1, 2012 Thank God I am not the only one who is convinced U2 are simply a good pub band. That has always been my exact description of them. They aren't bad by any means, but they are very ordinary - exactly the sort of thing you might find playing in a local bar. And I've seen far, far better bands in pubs, too. I couldn't believe the level of global popularity they achieved. They're just... dull.
