villan-scott Posted December 14, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted December 14, 2017 When Chelsea were storming the league last year and winning lots of games in a row Conte was a genius. Pep does it and he’s an arsehole. Man City and Pep are undeniably good, I have massive respect for what he’s achieved. Nothing in football is a given, no matter the resources or reputation. He was cleared nearly 10 years later due to a technicality. Anybody caught on a drugs ban should be banned from ever being allowed near the game

Kuwabatake Sanjuro
I'd be of a similar outlook when it comes to doping in football. I didn't believe what I saw in the Barca (Fuentes of Operation Puerto fame was caught before he took over but I'm sure they had access to other dodgy doctors after) days and don't believe what I'm seeing now either. Then again I believe doping is absolutely rife in football as testing is pathetic and the money involved so huge. Just some teams can push the envelope further in my very humble uneducated opinion. Pep still is a genius regardless but should have done a lot better last season, his messing around with back 3s and playing Fernandinho full back with Kolarov in the centre was bizarre. That zatmans posts about Pep shouldn’t be taken seriously because they’re influenced by something else. Which is fine by the way, I understand why you feel like that Zat. But it kind of makes a debate with you about Pep ‘s ability pointless because you’re basically admitting you’ll never change your opinion even if he’s unbelievably successful

I think the football his teams play is superb, but not fussed about him as a person. Nothing like Ben Johnson or Lance Armstrong though. They cheated to win individual glory which **** over others. At worst, Guardiola has cheated teammates out of a place in a first team or scored goals that he wouldn't have done without an illegal boost* - and that's if you believe he actively cheated. I'm actually curious to know what level of extra performance nandrolone would give footballers. How significant would any advantage be? Tend to agree with @Kuwabatake Sanjuro that doping may be pretty wide spread given the money involved. (* - Unless you're claiming all his teams are doping, which is pretty huge...) PaulC
I have never been able to get this hatred for people because they may or may not have done something wrong in the past. Life is too short to hold grudges.
andym
Dismantled Spurs with ease, even gave them a chance by playing Mangala and missing a penalty at 2-0. As an aside, i'm not sure i've ever seen a player who can look such a poor technician and yet score so many goals as Sterling. He's missed 2 or 3 open goals today and for his 2nd goal he completely missed the ball trying to take it round Lloris; luckily it actually fooled him and nutmegged him, yet in the end its another 2 to his seasons tally. BleedClaretAndBlue
Its one good thing about us being miserable failures. At least we wont have to play a Guardiola side. Id fear a 10 goal plus winning margin against this lot.
PaulC
De Bruyne was different class again. Not even a terrible challenge by Dele Alli could stop him. Delph is so comfortable in the position he is playing. One thing about him he has always been good on the ball.

Keyblade
De Bruyne is possibly the best player in this league. Class apart. It's like he's playing FIFA and everyone else is on the pitch. Sees the game like he's watching it from the top down.

Just no fuss from him - just absolute brilliance. Also think Leroy Sane is a player too. So quick and direct.
