Spoony
A billion spent but their squad looks pretty average and a million miles off Man City. How have they managed to do that??

Or to put another way. Just One midfeilder older than Jacob Ramsey To be fair it’s not a bad strategy, buy young players with bags of potential and keep a value. It’s a gamble but there are worse strategies
HalfTimePost
Stupid. They're only a Caceido and Mudryk away from the Bundesliga I think too

Afew examples Like us of we sold lamara in 2 years for 60m thats a 60m ffp profit for us. Not many clubs are going to overpay for these players so i can see chelsea making big losses on the players that flop Who knows what transfer fees will look like in 5 years time? Go back to 2018 and 40-50m were monumental fees paid by even the major clubs. Even now on this forum it's still a massive amount for us to pay. Someone like Enzo Fernandez would be on Real Madrid or Barca radar, same for Caciedo. Mudryk feels one that will be difficult to shift as he simply dosen't look that good, interesting how they get rid of Sterling given his age aswell. Given some of the crazy transfers fees they have been paying that is a hell of a bargain. Amazed there wasnt more competition but maybe he's made it clear that is the only place he wants to go. Chelsea apparently content that everything they are doing is within FFP. Be very interesting to see how that all works out because every other club will be on them like a hawk. Very unclear to me how this can be possible within the rules.

They are now far less of a lock for that than a decade ago with Man. City being a lock, Newcastle on the trajectory they're on, Arsenal far stronger than 4-5 years ago and Man. United and Liverpool always going to be in the mix. 5th place being probably a regular now for CL is their get out of jail free card you suspect. More likely they know they are going to be hit with a transfer ban so just going all in before it happens.

duke313
What’s Chelsea’s end game here? Are they and the Saudi’s just trying to break the transfer market? We know Boehly is a fan of the Super League. It would appear they are just going keep spending until they’re banned or kicked out, then they’ll restart the Super League with the Saudi’s.
