jon_c
I am definitely a hater of McLeish and want him gone as soon as. But that advert is a bit shit. Think it's the 'we told you so', makes it seem like we never offered him a chance. Which I think the majority of fans did, he just took that chance and beat it to death with a sledgehammer of dire football.
thejoker
I just worry that if Randy see's that advert, he will just stick 2 fingers up at the fans and keep McLeish
PieFacE Posted May 5, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted May 5, 2012 The idea of the advert is brilliant, but the contents of it could have been done better. The "We told you so" makes it lose a bit of class. If it had of said something like "It's not where you're from, it's where you're taking us" or "Proud History, Dull future" or something a long those lines (I'm sure other people could think of better) then it would have been absolutely brilliant. Big_John_10
I like the advert. It's a small dig at Lerner and i think after the last two years it's needed.
endof
Seriously that must of cost a fortune,i mean you ever tried to put an ad in the mail even a tiny text one with a few words is about £100....
thetrees
There's a horrible, superior smugness to that advert. Totally unnecessary. Actually, if you visit their website, not only did they 'tell him so', they are entirely responsible for the Petrov tributes. No doubt they are gearing themselves up to take credit for global peace and the end to global hunger and disease. Me, I'd rather stand on the side of a mountain and chew grass than be associated with this. Not in my name.

Pilchard
There's a horrible, superior smugness to that advert. Totally unnecessary. Yes. I never wanted McLeish here. I don't want him here. I believed that we would have a similar season to small heath and we have, spot on. But we have to be really careful in how this is expressed. That advert is smug, arrogant and almost anti-villa. It reinforces a 'us and them' attitude - the club and fans really should be together - especially at times like these. It's the same about the protests tomorrow - and why I won't be taking part. I respect the sentiment and support the aim - but I can't support and take part in something that I've seen the people doing it swear and abuse anyone who has queried them, and are doing things in an aggressive manor at at time we need to get behind the team. I don't want my last memory of a Premier League home game to be of a hate filled stadium. Of course, the whole reason it's happened in the first place was because the club decided to go ahead and cause that rift between the fans by insulting us with McLeish's appointment. But that advert is just as insulting back. Nothing will be achieved by warring against the club. Especially when it's obvious McLeish is off anyway. CI
Complete waste of money, the only thing it will achieve is get Lerners back up and demotivate the manager/staff and players even further
thetrees
I like the advert. It's a small dig at Lerner and i think after the last two years it's needed. And, if taken as the views of a large proportion of our support, which it will be to support media stories, pretty much confirmation that Villa supporters were never prepared to give the man a chance. Nice one!
CI
Yep the advert totally undermines all villa fans
Brumstopdogs
Very good advert - the more Lerner / Mcleish don't get away with the total mismanagement of the club the better.

foreveryoung
I have it on good knowledge that McLeish was sitting with the players at the awards night , did not socialise with the board/Lerner and did'nt even give a speech after the awards were given out. If this is not a sign he is finshed I dont know what is!! Quote in the paper today from McLeish "now is the time to start winning at home". Its a little late dont ya think t w a t!!!!!
