maqroll
I admit I'm enjoying Roger Goodell sweating this one out... "Hoisted by his own petard".... Edited September 12, 2014 by maqroll
abdomlahor
Is it just me, or are American sports fans very insensitive to injuries sustained by players? Some Giants fans are calling Odell Beckham a little bitch for not practicing yet due to a lingering hamstring injury, and calling him a 'bust' without him even playing a single down for us. He's been with us about four months ffs. Big difference compared to the relatively sympathetic football fans over here.
leviramsey Posted September 12, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) There's a culture that valorizes playing through pain and generally suspects any player who doesn't have to be kidnapped to keep away from the practice or game field of being lazy.New York, Boston/New England, Philly are probably the places where these sorts of things are most prevalent. abdomlahor
Yeah, I noticed it quite a lot. Quite interesting how different it is over here really. I get that there are always some idiots in every fanbase but there seems to be a way higher percentage across the pond.

maqroll
Just gets worse for the NFL...cannot see Goodell surviving through all of this. He just might want to GTFO anyway. Step right up, Condoleeza Rice. A female commish would be a PR coup for the league right now.

maqroll
I know it's small beans, but can we change this thread title to "NFL Predictions and General Chat"?
maqroll
Wonder what punishment the NFL will give him? Peterson? He'l probably get 6 games, but the Vikings are playing it smart, unlike Baltimore by not releasing him. Ray Rice will be back in the NFL after a year of apologies, anger management etc. And the Ravens will be without an elite RB, whereas a team like Oakland or New Orleans will be throwing money at him to sign for them. KennyPowers
So who does everyone like today for betting purposes. I like Miami +1.5 and Atlanta +6.
Milfner
Giants +1.5 doesn't look a bad bet at home to Cardinals. Palmer hasn't thrown a pass in practice all week. And I'd probably take 49ers at -7 especially if Marshall and Jeffrey are struggling to make it
leviramsey Posted September 14, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2014 This has the look of one of those weeks where the lines are accurate, so alternate lines in general and even teasers are probably good bets.
leviramsey Posted September 14, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2014 Cardinals are probably the strongest play in the early games.
leviramsey Posted September 14, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2014 I'd also lean towards the Dolphins, Lions, and Jags.
leviramsey Posted September 14, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 14, 2014 Judging from the line movement and general sentiment, it looks like there's a flood of sharp money on the Vikings.
Milfner
Hardy and DeAngelo are inactive today. Hardy's not injured either. Worrying.
