PaulC Posted December 18, 2016 Share Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) I'll stick up for him over Westwood as Westwood has been a fixture in our side for 3 or 4 years now whereas Gardner has only really had any sort of run in the team this season and in view of the injuries that have blighted his career so far he deserves some slack. I remember the hype as he came through, his performances in the next gen and the U21s for England and I thought he could be special. Ultimately it looks as though the injuries have cost him some crucial years of development time. I cannot see him being anything more than what we say today. He hit some nice passes, one down the right flank that nearly released Kodjia, and should have had a penalty, he even tracked back and tackled/blocked.
