roadoftrinity
Think it's a good move, he is still going to be behind Herd, Petrov and Jenas at the moment. Means that he can play full games.

Pilchard
That will teach him for showing some attacking intent and skill. Ship him out immediately you boring, awful prat of a manager! What we need is useless dicks like Hutton and Heskey in the team, out of position.
villa4europe
Surprised he didn't go to Leeds as we seem to be forming a decent relationship with them but glad seeing as bannan hardly played 6 games next month (I snuck Chelsea in) so a bit disapointing but he needs games hopefully proves himself ready for the fa cup game
GarethRDR
Have to say, I'm far more excited by the prospect of getting Jenas into the starting line-up. His cameo against Norwich though brief was very promising.
Houlston
This is just to get his competetive match fitness levels up. A month playing at Cov would probably be better than playing dribs and drabs in the first team here. Maybe when he comes back he'll get a good run here. I cant see this loan move being anything to do with ability or lack of it.

Agreed although I would expect him challenging for a spot when he comes back from loan. I like the fact he seems a bit of a free kick specialist, we haven't had one of those since Solano really. I agree with that. Hopefully he'll plenty of playing time there and show what he can do. He really hasn't played any competitive first team football so I think this is better than giving him a few minutes here and there in the Premier League. AndyHowell
Hey common folks. I've seen too many great talents get stuffed by being thrown into struggling teams too early on. Remember Ray Walker? This is not a bad move. Gardener has a great future but we don't want to fluff it. This seems liek a decent move to me. briny_ear
As long as he gets a few games, this will be an excellent move for him and us. He should come back in Jan game ready.
bickster Posted November 24, 2011 Moderator Share Posted November 24, 2011 I keep hearing that the next few games ahead of us are bloody tough and we'll be in the relegation zone by New Year. You want to destroy the kid by throwing him into that? Or send him out for a month's experience lower down without pressure then bring him into the side when the fixtures ease up a bit. A month at Coventry could be what he needs to make him ready
CI
WTF is going on at our club Why loan out the best young prospect we've had in 20 years to a shitty championship club where's he's likely to get injured The lunatics have taken over the asylum

We have Jenas to come in with Petrov and Herd, plus Bannan and Delph as well. A months loan seems the ideal thing to me.
sir_gary_cahill
Question for SGC, have you actually seen Gardner play or are you judging him on a poor warm up you saw? saw him last night in the nextgen, thought he was awful bar the goals Is this the first/only time you have seen him play? Or have you seen him a number of times? yes first time, wasn't impressed
bose
saw him last night in the nextgen, thought he was awful bar the goals Aw yes that's understandable. So besides scoring a hat trick in the U19 equivalent of the Champions League he was awful? I'd take an awful performance and a hat trick everyday. How was he awful - what did he do (or didn't do) that made him so awful?

villa_shere
Good news for the club and the player. Can find out what he is really like in a experienced game environment.
