A seasonal album.

Mushroom season.

A self diagnosed mild case of colour synesthesia means I can close my eyes and get the full Fantasia lava lamp experience ‘for free’ as it were.

I do have to say, that album was exceptional for it, ansolutely one of the top ones for triggering it. I didn’t actuallly know exactly what it would be like, it was bought on genre, review, and artwork. It was banging out colour from start to finish and had three consecutive full plays with me just slumped in a giant beanbag with the headphones on.

Oooft, this will stay in the same room as the stereo for a long time.

If you can take this one on then the Tangerine Dream and Guru Guru debuts are on too?

They'd all remain far out with their later output, but their debuts were peak raucous.

I’d need to know what it cost there to give you an answer but, given what I know about prices over there, it’s likely a resounding yes

In a shop that will regularly sell me new vinyl for £14, that CD blu ray set was £120

I love the Faces, I consider £120 for CD’s of old music pretty outrageous.

£120 is $157. I paid around $90. Sounds like your shop is a rip off 🤣

I’m kinda surprised by this, because typically when I hear people over there complaining about the price of beer/petrol/concert tickets it’s usually far less than I would have to pay. Maybe I’ve just lived in California for too long

£77 for this box that's out in November.

2 cds of the remastered '72 release, 2 cds of the supposedly significantly different Greek edition, 1 Blu Ray in 24/96 Atmos surround that Vangelis had a hand in.

I'd willingly hand over 20 squid for that last disc, but they're having a giggle, really.

Same here. I'm going to make do with streaming it.

Cure / Banshees side project that foreshadowed the direction The Cure would take post Pornography. Strange Acid-pop. Also somewhat under valued by the music press at the time if memory serves me correctly. The Banshees and The Cure were both in difficult periods. Smith was a member of both. McGeogh had been sacked from the Banshees and Gallup from The Cure. Siouxsie and Budgie were doing The Creatures so Severin and Smith did this whilst partying hard in the studio. They reckon they recorded for about 5 days out of 12 weeks. Also included two musicians who were about to join The Cure and the Banshees, possibly an extended audition for them. An album more significant than just its contents.

Girls At Our Best - Pleasure from 1981. Most definitely ahead off it’s time the NME was doing C81 whilst these were splitting up and this was far more C86 than C81

Saw them live several times, and I still have the above LP and all their singles. Vaguely knew them as the bass player's brother was a work colleague.
