I've got Spotlight Kid and Lick My Decals Off on a double reissue.

I struggle to appreciate Mr Beefheart. Maybe I should try again when the 'shrooms come out...

He ain’t for everyone, that’s for sure.  😉

50th anniversary edition, hot off the press. I generally don’t mess with GD studio albums, but they know their market and have released full live shows (mostly ones that never circulated in trading circles) on every 50th anniversary album so far,  meaning hardcore Heads like me purchase things we normally wouldn’t 🤣

Frog in Boiling Water from DIIV

Really wasn't keen on the album on maybe my first 5-10 listens but now I can't stop listening to it. Definitely a slow burner but it's exceptional work. Every time I listen to it a new hook grabs me that I hadn't noticed before which are generally the best type of albums. Very shoegazy too.

I'm OK with much of Beefheart's stuff. Just not Trout Mask bloody Replica, the one that's supposed to be the masterpiece. It's unlistenable.

Listening to and studying Devo's first and by far freshest and ageless over and over and over and over this month.

Liked it at the time, but all that wacky stuff has not aged well with me.

Remember when we spoke of our shared love of Dave Matthews Band?

Still no clue. I guess I should check them out on Spotify...

EDIT: My, they have a lot of live albums.

First impressions: inoffensive enough, I suppose, but nothing special.

I think they are sometimes described ... and let me make sure I get the phrase right here ... the worst band on earth.

Probably not even close. Sort of a mid-90s upper-middle-class college jam band. Big with fraternities in America a long time ago.
