chrisp65
That does surprise me actually, I’d have thought they were tolerable to most tastes. I wouldn’t exactly rank them in my top bands but I thought they were well worth £14 as a holding position as what I actually wanted wasn’t there. There’s a clip on YouTube, different album, but I regularly return, it has a great energy, and he did energy really quite well back there for a while. Just the first minute has more oomph than some bands will manage across an album. my nipper got a drum kit partly off that noise

Found a seller on eBay listing a load of still sealed LPs, managed to get the latest Chicago on double gold vinyl for £8, a Biffy Clyro b sides lp for £6.75 and a Knucklepuck album for the lad at £6.50

chrisp65
Well, I’ve gone for a less controversial one this time, the universally loved Ynys, with their second album in 2 years. The first one was quite quiet this one’s a bit more, more is more, but still basically jangly happy pop music from Aberystwyth.

A band and album title that sound far more interesting in Welsh Night Class by Island just doesn't grab the attention does it

I suspect this is a band made up of the talent that sessions for other musicians. You look at the individuals and they’ve all played on other stuff for others. An Aberystwyth level supergroup, if you will. But hey, if you aim to be the Beach Boys but end up just being ELO, isn’t that enough?
