PieFacE Posted July 12, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted July 12, 2023 Grian Chatten from Fontaines DC has a solo album which I'm really enjoying. Must listen for any Fontaines fans. I Inside the Old Year Dying from PJ Harvey. Not her best work but still an enjoyable listen all the same.

bickster Posted July 14, 2023 Moderator Share Posted July 14, 2023 Not listening to just yet but when I get home my takeaway tea will be soundtracked by… African Head Charge (Niyabinghi drumming On-U style - first studio album in decades), PJ Harvey’s new one and the slightly speculative purchase, an album by Hawksmoor, another Soul Jazz Records new artist only slightly because he used to be on Castles in Space. chrisp65
Four tracks in, just stunning so far, just as the drawing stuck on a photo and four different typefaces would suggest. oh, and in deepest Soho, you can still buy new records for £15

I don't think AMS had the time (or money) to devote to it so the labels went their separate ways They've amassed a great selection of titles since they started. A lot of the recent ones appear to be Yabby You, 6 in about the last 10 I think it is and two of the others were compilations
chrisp65
Yes, I must confess I think I might have 3 or 4 On U records, Lord knows how many of the Pressure Sounds, they’re just cheap easy access to an awful lot of dub stuff. Even today, that double album is excellent quality, nothing on there is a copy of anything I’ve already got, the whole thing is just really good tracks no filler and it was £20 for a doubler. Another of those labels you can just buy and know it’ll be ok. Anyway, it made a nice change, I’ve been re sorting and shelving records and Feel Flows box set has been out waiting for a home so I’ve been listening to Sunflower for days. It was like living in @rjw63 ‘s house. Edited July 18, 2023 by chrisp65 1

rjw63
Just been to the charity shop located at our local tip, to drop off some unwanted horrendous 12" singles, and came away with these at a quid a piece. Most of them look in very decent nick too. NB - one of them is for the wife, honest guv.
