bickster Posted May 20, 2022 Moderator Share Posted May 20, 2022 2 minutes ago, rjw63 said: Yeah, I just read about his feud with McCullough The story of The Crucial Three. A band that consisted of three lead singers. McCulloch, Cope and Wylie (Bunnymen, Teardrops and Wah) They either played 1 gig or 0 But from that group came the song Read It In Books performed by both the Bunnymen and the Teardrop Explodes. McCulloch credited as the writer on the Bunnymen version and Cope on the Teardrops one All three of don't get on True story, a few years back my ex-business partner was curating a couple of nights at a city festival that was the celebrate the Liverpool Live scene focussing on the Erics Club, from whence all three met and formed the Crucial Three and their proper bands He had an agreement with all three of them to perform together as The Crucial three. This would have been an absolute show stealer as no one has managed to get the three together before. He had their tacit agreement to do this and to perform but the whole thing soon fell apart. No this wasn't the usual musical differences, it fell apart because they all wanted to be named first on the poster. bickster Posted May 20, 2022 Moderator Share Posted May 20, 2022 I’m calling foul on 6Music here. They had a 25 years of OK Computer day to mark the anniversary of its release And after hearing bits I wanted to listen to the whole thing when I got in. Where’s the foul? Well mine is a promo copy of the cd. Here it is and a huge sticker on The back says …. So it might actually be the 25th anniversary of when I first heard it but the anniversary of release is a few weeks away yet EDIT: Turns out it was released on 21st May in Japan but 16th June in UK and 1st July in USA. Jeez remember when worldwide releases weren't co-ordinated. Very odd to have Japan first, traditionally the home territory came first

Lichfield Dean Posted May 21, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted May 21, 2022 Peter Gabriel 3 (Melt) A rare perfect album? Pretty much every track is gold. Definitely his strongest album in my opinion. Astonishing cast of guest artists - Paul Weller, Kate Bush, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins, Dave Gregory and more. Phil's drumming on No Self Control is off the charts brilliant (although Manu Katche actually managed to pull that drum fill off live perfectly, not many would get that right).
bickster Posted May 21, 2022 Moderator Share Posted May 21, 2022 This is well and truly awful but for 25p in Oxfam, I just bought it for the amusement value. I can't even post the cover because it's has y'know, breasts on it Chinga Chavin - Country Porn Contain's such wonderful titles as Cum Stains on the Pillow, Sit Sit Sit (On My Face), Dry Humpin' in the Back of a '55 Ford and saving the best until last... Cum Unto Jesus Strange thing is, this shit is actually worth much more than I paid. Usually sells for around £9 Absolutely dreadful but amusing at the same time. One to play in the background at the church fete to see who notices

theboyangel
Listening to this and it’s perfect for a sunny Sunday morning. Beautiful laid back retro psychedelic sound akin to the Danger Mouse & Danielle Luppi album Rome.

mjmooney Posted May 24, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted May 24, 2022 Is that it? Not 'me' enough for me to actually want it, but nowhere near enough my dislike zone for the ironic joke. I actually own and like most of the tracks on CD1. The rest of it... <shrug>
