The other good Midlake album:

The only other one I own. I think the singer stropped off after, or during the making of it and they lost something at that point.

I agree. Midlake WAS Tim Smith. The lead guitarist stepped up as frontman, but it's all a bit generic now.

Neil Young-Fest this afternoon, trying to educate the wife.

The two 'Harvest' albums should be safe enough. Dunno what she'll make of Tonight's the Night.

As it happens my missus is a huuuuge Neil Young fan.

Great compilation. It has most of the greats plus lots of others from films I've never heard of

I got that for Christmas 2020

I was just about to go and listen to Harvest. Was just reading a post on fb about it turning 50 this month.

Silver Apples - Selections from the Early Sessions

A best of from the first two albums back in 68 and 69

If you don't know Silver Apples, you should investigate. Almost as influential in the development of alternative music as the Velvet Underground

Bit the bullet and bought this today. 2 discs of Cash and in it is one of my favourite Johnny Cash tunes in Careless Love. It does not seem to be available anywhere digitally.

The 1 CD version is on Spotify. Not my favourite Dylan sessions at all.
