bickster Posted January 15, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 15, 2022 I have two copies of this (suspected DJ Boxes mixup with someone elses), I am trying to work out which is the decent copy, so I'll have to play it twice The current copy that is playing, is decent on side A at least and, i've just realised both copies I own are first pressings not second (same year 1989, for both variants) which bumps up their value a little as they have the embossed sleeve and the Spacemen 3 logo on the labels. It's pretty much a hard rock record by a band from Norway If I didn't have this record, I'd still be blissfully unaware of their existence, it'll be one of the first records I sell if I ever need to but I keep it because the price is not going down. There is currently one for sale on Discogs, globally (it's in Germany) and its pennies under £50 at the current exchange rate Hold on, last track on side 1 is actually ok, I don't think I've got this far before Their second Album... Spydergawd II (Spydergawd is also the name of the band) First Europe wide pressing on 180g "Deep Purple" vinyl. bickster Posted January 16, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 16, 2022 I was sent out foraging to the supermarkets today and this caught my eye in Oxfam It is amusing, It also features Jack Bruce, Bernie Marsden and Gary Moore (You'll spot his tracks without looking at the credits and yes, they are shite) It's worth at least a quid more than I paid for it (£2.99) and.... it's autographed with the intruction to Play it Loud! It's just very silly! The more it veers into Jazz Rock, the worse it is It's just a shame they didn't bung Dance with the Devil on there The title track Over The Top is last as you can imagine this is the bonkers finale to a gig promoting the album that showcases all of Cozy Powell's erm talents, it even features Tchaikovsy's 1812 Overture, it's very ELP, if you don't take it seriously it's hilarious Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Music from the film Mackenna's Gold by Qunicy Jones (never heard of it!) from 1969 featuring the vivid artistry, no less of José Feliciano (The first time he featured in a film soundtrack according to the blurb) The film starred Gregory Peck and Omar Sharif with telly Savalas co-starring. I love this album, I obviously have a thing for Adrian Sherwood and Clinic are a great band who I've known since they were a band called Jellystone Park and were managed by a bloke called Al. I like Clinic, even if I do find them a little one dimensional but this album is actually better than any Clinic album if I'm honest. AMS does psychedelic rock! You can actually buy this from UK sellers on Discogs right now for just over a tenner, brand new sealed copies and that includes the postage.
