A band that never really get the credit for the influence they had

Cabaret Voltaire - Microphonies. This has no printed inner sleeve, which makes me think its a second pressing but it's definitely from the era of it's release. In very good condition but worth sod all

I used to work with a bloke that was big on all that post-punk scene. Even though I was not into it myself, and he mostly knew his stuff, it used to piss me off that he always pronounced the name of that band "Cabaret Vol-a-taire".

That would be annoying

Another of those seminal post-punk meltiing poit artists who were way ahead of their time, there far much more stuff like this out there now than ever before. You could play this to someone unaware of its existence and they'd think it was fairly modern not 1982

Mines a 1984 repress on Illuminated Records. 23 Skidoo's debut - 7 Songs

Were 23 Skidoo on The Young Ones?

I remember them being on something on the TV and kicking off an argument in the house. The usual, I liked them, parents were outraged at how shit modern music was.

Anyway @snewill be pleased I bought this the other week...

A repress of Street Worms by the Viagra Boys, Clear Vinyl 180gm. Some knob paid £40 for this on discogs at the back end of May, it's only £13 inJacaranda Phase One in Liverpool and they had a few left :D Cheapest one currently available on there is about £19 (plus postage)

Nice!

They've really blown up in the last year.

Have all their stuff so far on vinyl.

Shame Konie has left them to focus on his studio and Les Big Byrd as he was a vital part of the band.

Guess he'll still produce for them thou, just not tour.

It's got 6 tracks on it, counts as an album in my book. Bought for £1.99 in Spillers (sticker is still on it), in this NM / VG+ condition it's worth £20-30 at todays prices, it used to go for a lot more a while back though I suspect the prices are rising again given the current re-release schedule

Earcom 2 - a 3 band Sampler on Fast Product.(it pre-dates Factory I think, released before Fac 1 - A Factory Sampler)

Basczax and Thursdays, never to be heard of again (and quite rightly so) but do some up a lot of bands on that post-punk DIY proto-indie scene but the other band some people might have heard of...Joy Division'. More of an artifact than a record really worth playing

The Glove- Blue Sunshine, First Pressing with printed inner sleeve. In very good condition (vinyl and sleeve)

The Glove were a Cure / Banshees crossover project, essentially written and performed by Robert Smith & Steven Severin with additional musicians from both bands live camps and vocals by a female friend of Budgie from the Banshees

It's not that valuable considering the prices Cure & Banshees stuff fetches these days, you can pick up decent copies on Discogs from £6 but this copy is more in the £15-20 bracket

The hotter the day, the more likely I am to be playing Dub, I found this in the unsorted shelves last night so it was my obvious choice when I came home

Back from 1982 before they were shit, that kid from the Double Deckers and his band...

Aswad - A New Chapter of Dub

DMAs MTV unplugged

as with all unplugged / acoustic albums theres a couple of tracks that its disappointing don't get the treatment and for some reason they've edited it rather than letting it flow but its a great album from a great band, his voice is mental, absolutely stunning, give time and money a listen

working my way through the mercury prize list which came out yesterday

started with fontaines, not a fan, the main problem is I don't like his voice, its pretty much killed everything for me

then I listened to idles...currently listening to it again, im sure I've seen it on here recommended by a couple, really good, opposite of fontaines I love his snarl and what at times sounds like some random bits of pop culture references thrown in, trying to get a proper sense as what they're about, that for me could be like the time black keys el camino was doing the rounds on here long before it took off

foals ive done to death over the last couple of months anyway

Yeah a few of us have been banging the IDLES drum for a while now.

Brutalism was a good starting point but Joy as an Act of Resistance is up there with my favourite albums of the last decade. It's a masterpiece imo.
