CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Allo Darlin' - Europe. Fantastic wee album, highly recommended. Fans of Belle and Sebastian's bittersweet moments will appreciate it especially. Polica - Give You The Ghost. Again, utterly superb. You can get lost in this album. More on the electronica scale, but comparisons with The XX are a bit off imo, more akin to Portishead at times. Get 'em.

dAVe80
40 years old, and still mind blowing. The first album to credit The Funk Brothers. Motown's greatest moment. Marvin Gaye's landmark album. And to think Berry Gordy didn't even want to release it, because he thought it was too political. An amazing record, that everyone should own. Xann
Collection of previously unreleased material spanning most of his career. He inspired some of our greatest guitarists and a good few dodgy indie ones too.

PieFacE Posted May 21, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted May 21, 2012 I've always wanted to give Tom Waits a go, but never got round to it. Which album would you recommend for a first time listener?
