Designer1 Posted November 21, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted November 21, 2014 New band called YOUNG TONGUE and their album called Death Rattle. I nominate Designer1, JamieZ and theboyangel to listen to it and review. I like it. It has a feel of a 90's alt rock band with more melody (I like the male/female vocal combination). Excellent drummer too. Nothing I haven't heard before but not too shabby at all

The male singer's delivery occasionally sounds like Steve Malkmus of Pavement (who are one of my favourite bands!) and the interplay between male and female vocals is good. Probably a grower - needs to be played more in the car! Cheers for the recommend Troon! Edited November 21, 2014 by theboyangel
JamieZ
New band called YOUNG TONGUE and their album called Death Rattle. I nominate Designer1, JamieZ and theboyangel to listen to it and review. I checked out the one track I was able to find on YouTube, "Cat Calls". I enjoyed it! I could see myself going either way with it at first, but the song built quite nicely and I really dug the abrasive musicality of the instrument tones across the board. I liked the bridge. I'll keep my eye out for the album! Edited November 21, 2014 by JamieZ
troon_villan
Found this today. The album title caught my eye as it reminded me of L. Bacuna; gave it a whirl and thought it was decent. Dreamy indie guitar pop similar to Real Estate and Kurt Vile.
JamieZ
The instrument tones on this album are nonstop. I love a live drum sound. Overtones!
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
10 years old! Still exceptional, despite influencing a tonne of terrible imitators.
Rodders
only other album of his I've heard is Pieces of a Man which I love. This is different, dominated by reflective spoken word sections, supported by fairly minimal backing sound. Enjoyable though.

Over a hundred quid? **** off. I have most of it on bootlegs, I very much want the legit set, but not at that price. The Smile Sessions was on pre-order for £123. I got it for £89 a couple of months later, and now you can get it for £75. Best to wait.
