CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Start with 'Closing Time' and go chronologically from there. You may or may not survive the jump he makes from his early work to Swordfishtrombones and the rest, but those early albums are stuffed with enough brilliant songs to keep you happy even if you don't. mjmooney Posted November 10, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted November 10, 2014 I love the Asylum era Tom Waits. Couldn't handle the Island stuff at all.

Rugeley Villa
any good mooney? i kind of got put off by the song they keep playing on planet rock, very floyd but just did not do it for me.
mjmooney Posted November 11, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted November 11, 2014 It's OK. Clearly an outtakes album, but I kind of prefer the instrumental/jamming Floyd to Roger Waters' miserable songs, so I'm fairly happy with it.

JoshVilla
Puts me in a very good mood. Nice Steely Dan sample too Edit: Oops, meant to put that in the What Song Are You Listening To thread, but I'm listening to the whole album too, so I guess it still counts Edited November 11, 2014 by JoshVilla
