Xann
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Light In The Attic are a great label. They released the Free Design back cat, the remastered 'Histoire De Melody Nelson' by Serge Gainsbourg, the brilliant 'UFO' by Jim Sullivan, some great Lee Hazlewood, a Shin Joong Hyun collection (the Korean Hendrix) and shed loads of other stuff. They've got lots of smaller specialist labels under their umbrella too: Death Waltz (cult soundtrack), Shadoks (World Funk/Prog/Psych) and ZudRangMa (Thai Funk & Psych) have devoted followers themselves. Their website is well worth investigating.
useless
The art work is amazing (ly shit) I suppose it is a bit. According to the notes it's by somebody called 'Dinamo Milano'. For people who don't like it, the saving grace is that you can't really see it, unless you hold the boxing at a certain angle towards the light. Of all my CD's and LP's (not loads) I think Norma Winstone's Edge of Time is my least favourite cover.

Have to go back now and get volume 1 at some point. That Thai Funk & Psych you've just mentioned I'll have to give that a look up later - you put some crazy Thai 'guitar' stuff up quite a while ago and i was hooked. Sort of a travelling sound system with dancing girls and hand made electric guitars. Bloody awesome.
chrisp65
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPrBj_RLTC0 now if somebody new how to get hold of Isaan music ........
Xann
ZudRangMa do Isaan, but It's more 50s/60s/70s period gear. The recordings technically are pretty patchy and aren't nearly as good as even those decidedly Lo-Fi YouTube offerings - The reverb certainly isn't as deep. Xann
That's recently had a posh repress I think. There'll be a few OGs floating about. Quite electronic in places, not the sort of title I'd usually associate with yourself.

I love the movie, and the Barry de Vorzon stuff on it is the best stuff bar Joe Walsh

theboyangel
Fink - Hard Believer. Pretty decent in a fairly low-fi acoustic way. Jungle - Jungle. Also pretty good on first listen!

Was disappointed they didn't sound like this... Edited July 19, 2014 by dAVe80

Xann
The Swingle Singers??? You've really lost it this time Dave. Heh heh heh, they're still going now and quite terrible. I like some of the sixties bits, the two Bachs particularly. Actually like too.
