I also wonder the same about the hundreds of movie recommendations I've posted over the years 🤔

I think you underestimate your influence in that regard. Some of my favourite movies are ones you’ve signposted and horror-apart (it just leaves me cold), I always check out films you recommend.
Whenever I get to choose a film my stock line is “a friend of mine*, whose opinion I rate, said it’s a good film”.

* It’s easier than trying to explain the dynamic of VT to people who wouldn’t understand ;)

For balance, I think you're a complete rocket polisher, @Designer1 👍

Given the poster, that can’t be anything other than a ringing endorsement <_<

When woken at night by the sound of thunder, I often sit and wonder how far off it is

Wonder no more.

Watch for the lightening flash and then count until you hear the thunder.

The lightening flash was 1/3 of a kilometer away for every second you count.

What if I start humming a song from 1962?

If woken up the the thunder,  I would imagine it's quite hard to have seen the lightning.

That's because you lied when you were seventeen.

Even when the sun is shining you can't avoid the lightning.

That'd mean it would be way up firm and high, out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy

I wonder how many people believe in this sort of shit:

As a Capricorn, I don't believe in that.

My favourite bit was that bunions are caused by lack of joy in meeting experiences in life.

Why do you still have a landline?
