Is flobbed still a word for spitting? I've not heard it for years.

You don't hear it much anymore. I think flobbed and gossed have amalgamated into gobbed.

This talk of old cars with @sidcow made me remember how populars Fords were when I was growing up. They were street furniture. Everyones parents seemed to drive a Ford in the 80s, be it a Escort, Cortina or Granada. The rest drove Vauxhalls and assorted British Leyland stuff. That was pretty much 95% of the cars on the estate I grew up on. With the occasional Fiat, Renault, Volvo or Citroen for the eccentrics (and teachers!)

They were the cars of the working people. Not flash, just functional, and people took huge pride in them. My Dad was tinkering on his Granada every Saturday, followed by a clean and valet!

Different world today. Cars don't need weekly fettling as they are so much more reliable. I think cars lack the soul of bygone ones, they are just nondescript blobs now laden with invasive tech.

That's an extremely kind way of saying the car was unreliable and needed constant maintenance. I also grew up in a house of serial Cortinas where we'd often watch Wogan on the telly of an evening with the entire engine dismantled on a newspaper in the middle of the floor.

They were easy to work on though.

A broken down Cortina still beats a Nissan Juke though :D

When you’ve got near  two identical keys on a key ring and when you go to unlock your front door 9/10 it’s the wrong key. Why is that . One for the piss you off thread I suppose .

I have this issue with the Back door and the Patio doors, the only obvious difference is three circular indentations vs four but in the dark thats not easy to spot

It’s the minor things that really annoy you isn’t it.

Alright if you’re not colourblind unlike me 😆

You're not white black colourblind :P  Or else just put the cover on one key and leave the other one nekkid.

Yep this. It's what I currently do. I have two identical keys. one has a black cover, the other has nothing. That way you can do it just by feel

You'd spend actual money to solve a problem that involves trying a second key? You people are insane, you deserve to be poor :D

I know there's a cost of living crisis but they work out less than 30p for one cap. I'm sure you can get them for 20p from Timpsons
