Popular Post TrentVilla Posted September 17, 2014 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2014 Is there a worse tv presenter than Henry Cole? world's greatest motorcycle rides is compulsive viewing just to see how awful he is. You've never watched football on ITV have you? Lucky bugger.

Below is how VillaTalk forms its opinion on music: Would more than 1% of people on the street have heard of this artist? Yes - utter shite. Bollocks. Worst music ever. No - AMAZING. Genius. Best music ever. So I expect nothing less. Music can't be good if its remotely popular. Edited September 17, 2014 by Stevo985

Ginko
Why people ever thought "Friends" was a funny TV show Here's a few reasons: Good mix of characters Good actors that knew those characters and had great on-screen chemistry It's essentially timeless -- the jokes for the most part are about people, not the culture at the time It's incredibly accessible and relatable -- even though we may not have been in the exaggerated situations the characters find themselves in, most people have often experienced the theme, such as a break up, dating, marriage, having a baby, getting a new job, death, issues with your family, work etc. Edited September 17, 2014 by Ginko

I love an unheard of indie rock band as much as the next faux hipster but heaven forbid that I think Firework by Katy Perry is a slice of genius ! Music is 99% brilliant regardless of the genre .
AVFC_Hitz
It could be worse, you could be a Stereophonics fan. Spend your late teens following them around the country and nearly shitting yourself when you meet Stuart Cable (sadly, no longer with us) (sorry Donnie). Nope. Music is 99% shit, regardless of the genre. But if you can find that 1% that is brilliant, it is the very stuff of life.
Seat68
That 1%, regardless of if you are the only person to hear it or its been number one for 26 weeks is still great. Great is great.

Rob182
I'm finding it hard to enjoy any modern music lately. I don't mind the odd bit of pop or pop rock if it's catchy, but most of the music I hear just annoys me. Punk rock seems to have turned into this chuggy offshoot of metal, indie seems to only be successful if it's some annoying manc/cockney or some 14 year old with an American accent and pop music just sounds like something a child could have written on a Tomy keyboard. I've resorted to buying lots of old cds that came out pre-2007.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
My main gripe is that all the good songwriters have either vanished or live in obscurity.
Rob182
Look no further. I am both varnished and in obscurity. If you give me a few thousand pounds, I'll record that melancholy album you've been waiting for.
Paddywhack
How long after making a post is it acceptable to go back and edit any spelling or grammar errors? I've found one I did about 5 minutes ago, is it too late for that one?

dAVe80
I don't get the back lash against people who have gone and sort out an alternative to music that's in the charts. I also don't get why people would think because it's obscure, it would be better. I've heard plenty of obscure music that is dog shit, and I've heard plenty of smash hits that are amazing. I've been told on more than one occasion some of the music I listen to is shit. At times like that, I'm just glad I have the tastes I do, and feel privileged to be able to enjoy it while others can't.
lapal_fan
When you only have 7 notes to work with, it's inevitable that the best configurations of those notes will be used up early. Hence, old music > new music.
