ChrisVillan
No surprise, but Chivas USA are gone. They'll be replaced in 2017 with a new LA team. Kansas City and Houston move to the Western Conference as of next season.

There was barely anybody in the stadium, deafly quiet, an embarrassment really.

There was barely anybody in the stadium, deafly quiet, an embarrassment really. It was not always that bad. Chivas used to be a decent club, but as their success fell, so did their attendance. Then some spotty deals and trades kept them towards the bottom of the league for years. They haven't been good since 2010 and the Galaxy has been great in those years. A lot of fans just switch ships.
Zatman
sad to hear, probably the closest MLS team connected to Villa with 4 players having played for both
ChrisVillan
sad to hear, probably the closest MLS team connected to Villa with 4 players having played for both Never thought to add them up, that is quite a connection. Interesting topic actually, with the old NASL being what it was we had a pretty strong connection with Atlanta Chiefs who ended up having a really big impact for such a short-lived team. And if you're willing to accept that the identity of a club is bigger than actual continuity, we had a good deal of personnel overlap with another MLS side in the shape of Portland Timbers. maqroll
Chivas USA was a bad idea to begin with. Mexican Chivas probably have a million fans in the United States who were not going to watch an inferior version of their club. Plus that ugly purging of non-Mexicans from the club was a disgrace. They won't be missed.

Czechlad
i never hated an mls team until now The new Seattle Sounders are pretty easy to hate. Dempsey is such a little baby on the pitch.
maqroll
New England Revolution (Kraft family, NE Patriots) are apparently in advanced talks with the city of Boston to build a "Soccer Specific Stadium" in South Boston. Leaked information to the Boston Globe from a high up source, so this might be finally the real thing after years of false promises. As the last original MLS club to still be playing in an NFL stadium, it is seen as an embarrassment around the league, and coming off the huge surge in interest after the World Cup, I think the Krafts had to act once and for all. A city location with a skyline view is as good as it gets. A subway line nearby as well, and plenty of very happy bar owners in Southie and Dorchester if this happens.
