OutByEaster? Posted July 8, 2013 Moderator Share Posted July 8, 2013 The David Villa deal probably suggests how this will go - he's going for a very low fee as he's likely to be earning around £6m a year - I think we'll see something similar, relatively speaking, in what we're prepared to do to save the £8m we're currently looking to pay Bent over the next two seasons - even a free transfer would pay for another Okore. roadoftrinity
Toon set to battle it out with Fulham for 5 million Darren Bent. Wow. That is truly a bargain. Grant Holt just signed for Wigan for a reported 4 million pound fee. Kone a 29 year old striker with 1 season Premier League experience signing for Everton for 5 million. Yet a regular English player who scores frequently and we can only manage 5 million. Astounds me really.. Holt went for 2 million. Anyway, 6 million is a bargain for Bent, so much so there has to be a reason there isn't more interest, either we want more than is been reported or there are some expensive contract issues to sort out or probably both. MagicMushroom
its a shame how the club have handle him. Looking at it with whats happened in the past, It seems that he has upset Lambert in some way rather than the club. It would not surprise if he has had an hissy fit over not being picked, and Lambert has sent him on a one way ticket out of the club. Also, im pretty certain that Bent has been known to have a little sulk in the past.
