lmarsha_926
http://tinyurl.com/6ewn8xd The date is set for Villa's FA Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers. The fourth round match will be played on Saturday January 29, with a 1pm kick-off. The early kick-off is due to Birmingham City playing at home on the same day, a 3pm start against Coventry City. The tie continues the ongoing association between the two clubs over the past two seasons in cup competitions. They played each other five times in total last term - with Villa beating Blackburn 7-4 on aggregate in the League Cup and 3-1 in the FA Cup. Nathan Delfouneso, Carlos Cuellar and John Carew did the damage in the competition last season as Rovers were knocked out at Villa Park in round three. And, Villa also beat Rovers in the League Cup earlier this term in Gerard Houllier's first game in charge of the claret and blue troops. Ashley Young bagged a brace with Emile Heskey providing the other goal in September 2010. Boss Houllier would love a repeat in this latest clash between the two sides. Houllier's men made it through to the next stage of the world's most celebrated cup competition after seeing off Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane. Kyle Walker, Marc Albrighton and Stan Petrov did the damage as Villa blunted the Blades. Villa have won the competition seven times, the last in 1957 when Eric Houghton led the side to FA Cup glory. Stay tuned to the official website for ticket details.
