chris_avfc
He wont be given £30 million plus everything from our failed squaddies. Randy knows, thats about it.
Maradona10
I think he'll get money to spend and if a player he wants is available, I'm sure the money will be given to him!
ozvillafan Posted November 14, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2010 Houllier has let some of Villa’s talented kids play this season but knows that cannot be the long-term solution. eh? Long term solution is spending 30mill on more second stringers like Santa Cruz? Seriously?! Such quality journalism.
jonno_2004
Rubbish journalist shocker.
tomav84 Posted November 14, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2010 the player links are lazy journalism, yes, but is 30m really that unrealistic? 18m from the milner money means only 12m of RL own money...is that really that hard to believe? Yes, really it is, there's more than the Milner money too, Gardener, Shorey plus some others that will leave in Jan but the net spend will never get that high unless club policy has completely turned about
theunderstudy
Lazy journalism. We need a quality (and I stress quality) striker, and a good DM, as well as a reserve LB be it on loan.

parisvilla
if we sign a RSC/Micky Owen type figure i'll go mad. delfouneso > hasbeens on 60k+ p/w. (that looks like some sort of physics equation)
lexicon
10mil or so, I would imagine. Net spend doesn't really mean that much anyway - it's a case of getting the RIGHT players in.
P3te
the net spend will never get that high unless club policy has completely turned about its possible that policy has temporarily shifted since houllier missed the summer window - a window where we didnt spend a penny would surprise me if £30m IS available, it would surprise me if we spent it tho

regular_john
Haven't we also got a next-next generation of youngsters that are supposed to be even better than the next generation? I know Gardner is being touted as a potential superstar, aren't there a few others that are rated even higher than Bannan, Albrighton, Clark, Delfouneso etc.? Be carefull, Michael Standing, J Lloyd Samuel - were more highly rated than Barry - If we get 3 first team regulars out of the current crop we will have done very well. beasley14
Went for £20m. We should be spending the Milner money at the very least.
Stevo985 Posted November 14, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2010 5-10. I think we'll sign a coupleandsell one or two like Carew and/or Sidwell or someone like that.
AshVilla
Sidwell out and Makoun in will probably be his first bit of business.
sellyoakvilla
I say 20+, we've still got the Milner money floating around plus Houllier will have some to make some of his own additions to the squad.
