It's Your Round
Second jab booked for today, which is cheerful enough, but the real joy comes from booking it at midday in Sheffield which means I get to log off and go out for lunch while I’m there. I predict the place will be busy and the traffic bad, so I reckon I’m good for three hours away time. I could have booked it for next week when I’m off, but where’s the fun in that?

A lazy bugger i used to work with (well, I worked, he dossed) used to nip out to get his hair cut in office hours. He was brazen about it, brushing clippings off his shirt and justified his absence by shrugging "well, it grows in works time" 1

Popular Post tonyh29
My new neighbour has a small fir tree in a pot in his garden , so in a moment of boredom one night I went out decorated it with tinsel and a put fairy on top . few weeks later someone else has put a Santa stop here sign in his garden , followed by a box wrapped in Christmas paper a few weeks after that…. Apparently someone even made some mince pies and left them out in a cake tin for him tonight I’ve just added a climbing Santa thingy to his fence. And the marzipan on the cake is nobody is admitting responsibility for any act so other than my own contributions I have no idea who else is doing it

maqroll
Loving being in Maine as the rest of the country is hovering around 100F. Decent place to ride out the collapse.
choffer Posted June 30, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted June 30, 2021 (edited) I don’t want to come off all @Phil Silvers here as I’ve not actually seen her play tennis but that Katie Boulter interview suggests she’s a lovely girl. Genie
One of the guys who was grabbing and jeering at Chris Whitty in London has lost his job. Good. Quote The video shows two men laughing and jeering as they grab hold of Prof Whitty, who struggles to free himself. The Met Police are investigating the footage, which the force said happened in St James's Park in London on Sunday. Mr Hughes, a 24-year-old estate agent, told the newspaper he had lost his job following the incident. "If I made [Prof Whitty] feel uncomfortable, which it does look like I did, then I am sorry to him for that," he said. Link

I really don't think it was lose your job behaviour. Nothing threatening just a bit drunk, wanting a selfie and pushing personal boundaries too far. No threats, no violence Public embarrasment should be enough. They didn't really do anything that deserves such a life changing punishment The press framing the pair as "Yobs" hasn't helped either, that has totally different connotations to what was actually in that video One for the unpopular opinions topic I guess

Collins Dictionary I assume the employer had their reasons, maybe the incident caused them a lot of embarrassment, negative press or loss of business.
