Popular Post tonyh29
Hiked the seven sisters today with Mrs H and the kids , No “do we have to “ and No“ are we there yet” in the drive down , No whinging about walking up and down hills ,from the kids .... a lovely family day out ... made all the more perfect by swinging by Brighton on the way home for fish and chips on the beach , to find they were serving draught beer .... I don’t think a pint ever tasted so good , if I could have persuaded Mrs H to drive my car home and sneaked a few more in it might have been the most perfect day ever , but I’ll settle for a things that cheer you up, moment Edited June 8, 2020 by tonyh29

It’s still kind deserted down there , the pier is shut as is the majority of things ... but on the front you can get fish and chips , ice cream and beer ... no cockles and whelks though

Popular Post Seat68
This will be hard to explain and its also a bit weird, but it cheers me up, inexplicably every time I do it. If a man appears in on telly, on the news and they work in trades, or someone of that ilk calls my wife as part of her job. I shorten their name and verbally refer to it. E.g man on telly thats a builder, Paul Simpson. I will literally say out loud Simpo. My wife took a call just from a contractor called Paul Downs, I literally said out loud Downsy. If a roofer is on Grand Designs called Tom Glaser. I will say out loud Tompo. I don’t know where it comes from, why I do it and why it gives me enjoyment. I do not know any of these people. 4

Brilliant. I can imagine the little laugh you allow yourself after every go. Slightly similar but obviously much less frequent, if someone on the TV or radio says Shanghai, I have to shout that out ‘Shanghai!’. Every time, I have wondered if I’ve ever been to a hypnotist show.

Every time, I have wondered if I’ve ever been to a hypnotist show. In around about 1985 there was loads of news about this Prime Minister woman thing, called Thatcher. Whenever the news came on the telly at work one or two of the lads would shout “witch” at the mere mention of its name. This evolved slightly, and over time one or two of us would sort of, Soto voce do a “wiiiitttchhh” kind of hiss/cackle if anyone mentioned its name. 35 years later I still do it. also v signs if it comes on the telly in some doco or old newsreel. 5
mjmooney Posted June 9, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted June 9, 2020 Every time the BBC weather is presented by Tomasz Schafernaker, I HAVE to burst out: BOOM! Schafernaker-naker! BOOM! Schafernaker-naker! 1 1
Popular Post choffer Posted June 9, 2020 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted June 9, 2020 Pretty sure I've shared this one before on VT but on BBC London, the main newsreader always introduces himself with "Good evening. I'm Assad Ahmed" and I always reply "cheer up then".
