VILLAMARV
Listening to Throwing Copper right now. Forgot Top and Stage earlier listing my faves off it. Cant get anywhere near him on some of it but the vast majority of the words are somehow lodged in my brain still. Few weird looks from MrsVM but she knows when I'm happy making weird noises in the corner.

Saw them perform this at Edwards No.8 in Birmingham (classic venue until it burnt down) Still play the album - love the final track Pillar of Davidson.

It's that same old loud/quiet shit - indistinguishable from Nirvana/Foo Fighters and the rest of them.

It's the inalienable right of us old codgers to play the "It all sounds the same" card. FWIW, I'm equally sure that the stuff I listen to all sounds the same to people who aren't into it. Seat68
Gave it a listen, sounds like gargling pebbles that pearl jam and all them do. Soz. Now back to playing songs by a man with a moustache and wearing a cowboy hat.

Listening to an album once in an attempt to get to know it is never going to work really.

This is back to the not liking avocado argument. Sometimes one taste is more than enough. If I listen to the Live album twenty times will it sound more like Bob Dylan than Nirvana? Designer1 Posted August 1, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted August 1, 2018 (edited) They sound nothing like Nirvana. Totally different sound/vibe/vocal performance. Way more alt rock than grunge. They probably have more in common with Dylan tbh... Edited August 1, 2018 by Designer1
