villanfromluton
Why Clark is being compared with Busquets I cant fathom. I think he could become a good defensive midfielder in the future, but his position at the minute is centre half.
T.Daley
Slightly OT, but didn't McGrath/GOD play CB for Villa and CM for Eire? Maybe thats who CC should be aiming for!
VillaChris
No doubt Collins will be injured at some point this season. Clark will get his chance then.
AdamLL
Shame his chance has to come via injury. Would love to see him given a spell at CB. Has looked very good when he's played and don't forget his goal from outside the box agaisnt Arsenal.
SilverPeacock
I know we conceded 4 but I thought Clark did really well today, surely did enough to justify staying in the team anyway. Surprised me how good/aggresive he was in the tackle a few times.
Window09
He plays the ball out along the floor a lot more than Collins, which helps quite a bit. He also seems comfortable carrying the ball forwards. The only thing I am not sure about is how good he is in the air.
chappy
Yeah despite the four conceded we look much better with him in than JC.

Window09
Yeah despite the four conceded we look much better with him in than JC. That might have been down to the quality of the opposition as well
hercs23
Really pleased to see clark in the team hopefully he is still there next week and the 4-1 isnt put down just to clark. Way better defender than collins.

Czechlad
Really unfair to judge clark from today's performance. He was thrown into the first XI after months on the sideline and he was forced to play against one of the best teams in the league.

SilverPeacock
Czechlad, I was being sarcastic. The lad has talent IMO, has to get stronger mind Yeah I'd agree with that. The same thing could have been said about Cahill back in the day, he's built like a tank now.
macandally
Pretty assured peformance. Got caught out positionally a couple of times by Ballotelli but then again, so did Dunne. Fortunately, Warnock covered well. Would much rather see this kid being played than Collins, much better on the ball.
WooJung
I think he is more or less on the same level as Collins right now. The difference is that he can play the ball better, and, unlike Collins, he can improve a lot.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind being judged on this game.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind being judged on this game. I was at the game on Saturday and Petrov was our man of the match and I think that is reflected in the match poll on here. Clark was OK. He was caught out of position a few times but given the opposition and the fact it was his first league start for a long time he did aright.
