Woodytom
Having been seen as a relative outsider at the start of the week, Alan Curbishsley now finds himself at the top of a shortlist that the odds suggest includes just Gerard Houllier and Kevin MacDonald. The gamble we have seen over the last 24 hours seems to suggest that an announcement is imminent," said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. Pathetic if it is Curbishley. Absolutely pathetic. You chuckin in ya season ticket too?
El_Hierro
Jol>Hitzfeld>McLaren>Moyes>McLeish>Klinsmann>MacDonald>Sven> Hughes>Bilic>Curbishley>Allardyce>Lambert>Brown>Koeman>Zola>Houllier>Southgate Thats quite quite harsh on Houllier? > Zola & Brown? I'd have to respectfully disagree there. Nah, just don't rate Houllier much. One good season (ok, maybe two) for Liverpool at a time when competition was poor. His signings make MON look like a God in the transfer market: Vegard Heggem Rosenborg £ 3500000 21-07-1998 Jean-Michel Ferri Istanbulspor £ 1700000 06-01-1999 Frode Kippe Lillestrom £ 700000 06-01-1999 Rigobert Song Salernitana £ 2600000 22-01-1999 Djimi Traore Laval £ 550000 17-02-1999 Sami Hyypia Willem II £ 3000000 18-05-1999 Titi Camara Marseille £ 2600000 02-06-1999 Stephane Henchoz Blackburn £ 3500000 03-06-1999 Sander Westerveld Vitesse Arn. £ 4000000 15-06-1999 Vladimir Smicer Lens £ 4200000 01-07-1999 Erik Meijer B Leverkusen Free 01-07-1999 Dietmar Hamann Newcastle £ 8000000 22-07-1999 Emile Heskey Leicester £ 11000000 10-03-2000 Markus Babbel B Munich Signed 01-06-2000 Bernard Diomede Auxerre £ 3000000 08-06-2000 Pegguy Arphexad Leicester Free 01-07-2000 Gary McAllister Coventry Free 01-07-2000 Nick Barmby Everton £ 6000000 18-07-2000 Christian Ziege Middlesbro £ 5500000 25-08-2000 Gregory Vignal Montpellier £ 500000 23-09-2000 Daniel Sjolund West Ham £ 1000000 30-11-2000 Igor Biscan Dyn. Mantis
FFS, K Mac was odds on yesterday, and Moyes had his odds slashed on Monday. IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING.

Denis_B
Whys Steve Nicol solid at 20/1? Coz somebody put money on him. These odds don't really reflect anything other than how much money is being placed on anyone by people that read sites like this. If the bookies knew anything they would be breaking the law by still taking bets.

Yeah I understand that, but just a bit random that Steve Nicol is like 6th favourite not someone who you just go and lump a wager on is he. Folski
We weren't in Europe 4 years ago though! Neither are we now! Paulanddona was stating how he hadnt missed a european game in 4 years, found this strange as before Mon I'd say there was a good 5 years before we were in Europe

Maradona10
To be honest instead of Curbishley/ Houllier, I'd prefer Lambert! THIS THIS THIS Everton gave Moyes a chance and instead of flying around Europe for Houllier, give it to an up and coming manager who has been in the lower leagues now for a few years and would at least have a vision and hopefully see us past a 4 year cycle of changing managers! Wont have the same effect now with a lightweight bit of plastic, will have to bluetac a coin to it or something

Good post. One of my first thoughts post 9/8 was Lambert, mainly to wind up a Norwich supporting mate. But I'd rather Lambert than a Houllier/Curbishley/Sven. Hanky
To be honest Macdonald is the most appealing out of the four that are heavily linked. I also thing appointing him would be a mistake, that's how much I rate them. We need a saviour (a messiah if you will ) to swoop in and save us from the rest. I notice David O'Leary is listed in the odds...
theboyangel
If we were to scour the lower leagues then I reckon Sean O'Driscoll may be worth a shout - he's done well with Donny and they're playing some good football... However, Roberto Martinez, Tony Mowbray etc also did well in the Championship playing nice footie but they haven't exactly shone in the Prem.
