chips'ngravy Posted August 5, 2021 Share Posted August 5, 2021 Gutted he's left as he has been, undoubtedly, the best reason to watch Villa over the last few seasons. Winning might be the be all and end all when it comes down to it but to have a genuine entertainer playing for your side takes you to a higher place where your joy in the game is manifested in something that transcends the result. That said, 6 goals and 10 assists, while a decent return on a season truncated through injury, is far from irreplaceable. Most others would have left after we just avoided another relegation on the last day the following season. He obviously loves Aston Villa. It was a professional decision to make the jump to City. He's earned the move. All this snake talk is embarrassing, frankly. He was the brightest star to play for Villa in my 26 years following the club. It's been a thrill. I thank him for that, and wish him well. It is sad to see that promo video. But look at where we are now as a club, in large part because of Jack Grealish! Exciting days ahead, and I suspect he will look on with more than a tinge of envy for missing out on what is around the corner for the Villa.
