I think you are missing the point entirely. He COULD have ploughed into a family with young kids. He COULD have smashed into an Ambulance on its way to treat a desperately ill person. He COULD have run down an old person on a morning walk. The fact that he didn't is purely down to luck that he didn't encounter them. It doesn't make it basically OK because it didn't end in absolute tragedy. My wife has witnessed a friend die after being flung like a rag doll over the bonnet of the car of a drink driver careering uncontrolled down the road. There is only one person who needs to "get a grip" here. Edited March 30, 2020 by sidcow

At the moment I can’t think of what he did as anything but unforgivable but maybe you can present the other side of the argument. No way was he not pissed as a fart. He's reversed out of a space into a van then driven down a slow quite road and hit 2 more cars, then scarpered before the police get there. If you don't believe he was drinking you are extremely gullible. It's not trial by social media it's trial by the down right obvious.

Popular Post danceoftheshamen
I mean on what planet is it ok for the captain of a Premier League club..a role which obviously has a degree of acting responsibly to it at any time let alone amidst the worst Pandemic known to us in the modern era, to go public with a "Stay at home" message & then do this? Then add in the likelihood that on a personal level he could well be about to have the biggest move of his career with the club, if relegated as is likely, needing to get the maximum amount possible for him to give us a best a chance as possible to bounce straight back up & comply with FFP etc! Deary me, this is how our club captain behaves & people wonder why we have been so poor this season. I know we've all been young (& stupid) once but this takes it to a whole new level. I love Jack as a player but crikey. For me the captaincy has to change now for the sake of the team as you cannot lead from a position of weakness. 7
StefanAVFC Posted March 30, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted March 30, 2020 As ive said twice now It isn't the (hypothetical) drink driving in isolation. It's the (hypothetical) drink driving whilst fans are making huge sacrifices because of the current situation. How can the club captain come back from that? It's not a legal thing. Not sure why that's being debated. Or why that's so hard to grasp.
Vive_La_Villa
It sounds like he can’t get done for drink driving now. I reckon he will get done for leaving the scene of an accident though. I assume that’s pretty serious? 12 points and a fine?

It's an offence if you leave the scene and leave no details , he left his details.

With no casualties involved, if he has stopped and left his insurance details, I doubt he's got much of a case to answer there either!
VillaChris
Surprised he's keep the captaincy although given we won't be playing for a long while it could be something DS will do in the run up to whenever our next fixture is.
