The players know this & feel they can get away with one early. It's about time that refs call it the same at the beginning, middle & end of the game.

I'm biased, so assume they are all fouls. Referees have the power to, often do, book players for diving. Times Grealish has been fouled this season = 150+. Times Grealish has been booked for a dive this season = 0. They are the hard facts from neutral professionals who, whilst far from perfect, are generally recognised as not being obsessed or biased. The figures tell the hard truth and I couldn’t give a flying fig whether opposition fans like it or not.
Delphinho123
Love him. By his own ridiculously high standards you could argue he wasn’t at his best yesterday but he was by far and away the best player on the pitch over the course of the 90 minutes. I still can’t figure out how he doesn’t seem to be actually running that fast but going round players like they’re not there. Nobody can get near him even at walking pace. If we go up, we should offer him a ten year contract, freedom of the city and build a statue of him outside the ground. He’s magnificent.
tinker Posted May 12, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted May 12, 2019 Played to deep for the first 60 minutes...... Best player in the league by a country mile and the opposition must hate playing against a player that can score or create a goal from nothing. Think he's saving the best until he final. MarcusUAE
just oozes class, nothing phases him and he never changes his game regardless of how many awful tackles he has to endure. All we have ever wanted was for Jack to add end product and he finally has - it's a joy to watch. Let's hope we can watch him deliver a liverpool-esque performance at Wembley on May 27! Villarocker
Jack deliberately holds on to the ball longer in order to drawer fouls from his opponents and gain free kicks, often in dangerous areas, for his team. It takes courage and strength of character to constantly do that knowing that it involves you being tripped or kicked and a possible injury following the challenge. Messi and Ronaldo do it but they have the extra goals in them that make them the very best. For instance, I believe Messi did the same thing in the first leg of the CL semi against Liverpool then scored from the resulting free kick. Jack has knuckled down, trained hard to build up his strength and is now the player we hoped he would be. He drags our team up the pitch time and time again, game after game. Sometimes he adds a goal to his game but most time assists in the goal either directly like in both of yesterday's goals or indirectly by dragging his markers out of position. He's a very talented player who most teams would want in their starting line-up each game. We are lucky we can call him ours and one of us.
