Zatman
I saw this on TV at the time and thought it was just me. Points deduction and stadium ban should be looked into Quote Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Birmingham City on Sunday is sure to command a lot of post-match headlines. After nine minutes of the match, a Birmingham supporter ran on the pitch and assaulted Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish. Grealish was whacked around the side of his head while he was looking the other way. Police arrested that fan, who is sure to be charged for his awful behaviour. In the 67th minute, in classic poetic justice, Jack Grealish fired Villa into the lead at St Andrews. Police nick a Birmingham steward after Jack Grealish scored Eagles-eyed TV viewers spotted that a steward at Birmingham was carted off by police after Grealish scored. The Republic of Irelnad midfielder naturally celebrated wildly on the sidelines after scoring. Grealish was joined by his Villa team mates as they enjoyed the moment with their travelling fans. However, as Grealish was right by the advertising hoardings, one steward put his hands on the Villa midfielder. The steward appeared to push Grealish. Seconds later police were spotted escorting the steward away from the scene. The assumption was that the police arrested the steward. https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/police-get-hold-of-a-birmingham-steward-after-he-goes-after-aston-villas-jack-grealish/?fbclid=IwAR1CLwg5cNOm64d6soQq0S-wGy32clsjPXj3wnqZCma2lAjtAQN7bnFv8KI

It's the biggest story of the day all countries media will be reporting it. For Grealish to hit back like that after what happened was incredible. Madrid and Juve will be sniffing soon. Mate, no idea why people will laugh at that but I agree, to a certain extent. Player has an opposing "fan" run into the pitch to hit him and he goes on to score the winner. It will be seen around Europe and Jack's profile, as such, will be extended abroad.

But what a show of mental strength to handle the situation the way he did, continue to captain the team and to go on and score the winner. 23 years old and in my eyes already a legend. If you want to know where underage kids are conceived look no further than Small Heath alliance fans - I know this first hand, unfortunately! Cjay Posted March 10, 2019 Visiting Supporter Share Posted March 10, 2019 100% credit to Grealish. Hope they throw the book (or maybe just the match report) at the idiot who hit him. Or maybe just make him watch the goal on repeat for 8 hours a day for the next year. Anyway, great character from Grealish, would have been easy to go into his shell after being assaulted. Well done Jack. 1
Demitri_C
Interesting statement from our club Here Quote Aston Villa Football Club is appalled by the disgraceful attack on Jack Grealish during today’s game. A red line has been crossed by this cowardly on-field assault on a player, which is unprecedented in English football. We trust the perpetrator will feel the full force of the law and the authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding today’s deplorable incident. Local rivalries are part of the fabric of the game however, as we are sure our friends at Birmingham City would agree, to have a player’s personal safety placed under such jeopardy is a serious cause for concern for the entire football community.

I highly doubt that guy represents the rest, but he did get applauded. Those that applauded should find another past time, football is not for them. Popular Post Dr_Pangloss
Grealish could have easily (a) lost his rag and got sent off or (b) go into his shell and do nothing. Absolute credit that he did neither and looked to take the game by the scruff of the neck at every opportunity. Great finish for the goal but just unbelievable character, a true captain leading by example, stunning stuff from Jack Grealish.
Villarocker
Kieftenbeld hit Jack harder than that knuckle dragger out of the sty. That clogger should be banned from football on the grounds of being an imposter! Every game he smashes Jack and gets away with it and it's about time he was dealt with.
