The New Condem Government

Atos didn't invent the system, but they ruthlessly exploit it for profit. Enthusiastic collaborators in imposing hardship and oppression.

And of course, nor did the Conservatives, as it was Labour who awarded Atos their contract, and asked them to run the tests in the first place.

No, but they did bastardise the test and continually alter it to make it more and more difficult to meet the criteria, they set the non existant targets that don't officially exist, except as a monetery saving, that could only be achieved by denying people the benefits they should be entitled to.

At the risk of giving some tiny sliver of credibility to the entirely false idea that the Harperson-PIE story has anything at all to do with news and is anything but a successful attempt to stop more important things being discussed, I would make one comment: this para about the Mail is worth sharing.

Asked if the Daily Mail promoted indecency, Andrew Pierce, its consulting editor, said it was a "family newspaper" and had not published photographs of anything that could not be seen on a beach.

Like they don't understand that seeing a child on a beach and publishing photos of a child in a bikini to be seen by millions are not quite the same thing. Pathetic, duplicitous, hypocritical scum.

Come on.  That would require investigation, asking difficult questions of the rich and powerful, threatening the security of those establishment figures who were involved in Elm House, naming the tory party figures who were at it...what we might call journalism, in other words.

RBS make £8.2bn losses (up 56%). Employees are to share £576m in bonuses. Of course they are, makes perfect sense.

Edit - more in link.

Unfortunately when RBS was bailed out, some genius in Downing St didn't think it was important for the government held shares to confer voting rights, so they don't.

Do you think in the current climate with our current bunch of compliant numpties that would have changed anything? All it gives is deny ability of part in this plainly wrong situation
