TrentVilla Posted December 12, 2014 Moderator Share Posted December 12, 2014 I still can't believe Osborne got away with saying that the deficit has halved. Talk about twisting the truth. I thought people were just being kind given its quite obvious he isn't very good at maths and probably thinks his sums are right.

All were clothed, so the mass face-sitting didn't prove as titillating as the seedy Dutch TV hosts in attendance were hoping, but it was an unprecedented form of demonstration nonetheless. We headed down to Westminster to check it out, here's a few things we saw:

I thought people were just being kind given its quite obvious he isn't very good at maths and probably thinks his sums are right. My view is it derives from his only experience of the world of employment, when he spent a few weeks folding towels in Selfridge's. He formed the view that when he folded the towel, because he could only see half as much towel as before, the towel had reduced in size by that extent. In the case of the deficit, if he only looks at part of it, he feels entitled to believe that the other part has disappeared.

Jon
I see the Tories and their lap dogs voted in favour of keeping the Bedroom Tax. Disgusting. How anyone can STILL defend the LieDems is beyond my comprehension. They really are facing something of a wipeout in 5 months time. They'll lose their marginals I'd wager, which would just leave them with their 'safe' seats. I'm not sure how many of those they have, but it can't be too many ....

markavfc40
You reap what you sow don't you. The NHS has been under funded and billions wasted on a needless top down reorganization. On top of that huge cuts to local government funding has resulted in cuts to adult social care meaning many patients are in hospital simply because they have no where else to go. The result is we now have numerous hospitals declaring major incidents and in some cases A and E departments locking doors and ambulances being left outside with patients. The way this country's finest achievement, the NHS, has been treated is nothing short of a disgrace. In fact the way this Tory led Government has treated many of our public services with their ideological cuts is disgraceful. chrisp65
Health service provision needs to stop pushing for the next big thing. The bigger cleverer 3D scanner of ever smaller things whilst prescribing more and more mind bogglingly expensive drugs. Rather than finding another way of spending £8,000,000 on a machine that will help 100 people survive and take £150 prescriptions for the next 10 years they need to get back to staffing hospitals with cleaners and nurses and checking the old have access to a glass of water. We have hospitals full of grubby scanner suites and car parks full of ambulances with nowhere to drop off the patients.
