Thanks for posting that list Ian. Nothing that we didn't know but when you see it listed like that it just hammers home what a useless, evil bunch of bastards this Tory led Government and Lib Dem lap dogs have been. Any supporters of this mob that aren't right wing nut jobs should hang their heads in shame. Those that are right wing nut jobs and revelling in all this should slip a noose round their own necks and do the rest of us a **** favour.

I refuse to believe No 1 and No 100 on that list.

I just refuse to believe that our Prime Minister would give an absolute face to camera read my lips style 'judge me on this' pledge that he would personally protect and ring fence Sure Start above all.

If we can't trust our own PM on such an absolute pledge, well, I don't know what to think.

My only doubt in my personal belief in the personal promise of our PM is that I do know people that worked in Sure Start, but don't anymore, due to cuts.

That's the spirit ... We've gone from Bowie knifes to hanging

Shall we round up their children next and put them in reeducation camps

It's yet more evidence if needed that Richards statement the other day was true

I thought Dr Clarke would have learnt his lesson by now

I, Dr Eoin Clarke, apologise wholly and unreservedly to Virgin Care, its employees, subsidiaries and service users, as well as my readers, for writing over 46 blog entries that contained false, inaccurate and defamatory statements.

In several posts on my blog “The Green Benches” in 2012, I made a number of defamatory statements about Circle Health. I now acknowledge that there was no truth to those statements…

Or this:

I would like to make 5 sincere and unequivocal apologies and clarifications about earlier pieces I wrote in relation to Lord Ashcroft. My earlier writings used hyperbole in 2 cases, may have caused a false impression to be received in others 2 cases, and was incorrect on the facts in 1 case.

The NHS stats on that list won't be too far off the mark.

Walk in centers shut, nursing staffing levels down, GP funding down, hospital beds axed added to a massive cut in local government funding meaning huge cuts in social care. Surprise surprise A and E is now on its knees and waiting times have gone up dramatically.

This mob think we're all thick as shit though and try to deflect all the attention on the NHS onto the few bad apples with in it hoping then that we won't notice that at the same time they are destroying this countries finest achievement. Nothing short of a disgrace.

Some interesting usage of the word "evidence" there.  Good job Drat isn't a rozzer.

Interesting how you concentrate on the person rather than the subject - confirming more so what drives the right wing supporters

Maybe a read of teh post would have shown you that I was not the author of that, but hey let's not let a little thing like that get in the way of personal snides eh?

Interesting that you continue to deflect and not even discuss the points raised in that article, rather you would prefer to cause problems in the thread by trying to create a shit storm out something that has no relevance whatsoever to the topic.

Again - maybe you would like to show (as per site rules) where those quotes have come from and maybe you can debate the issues raised?

I wouldn't worry too much about it Ian. It seems to be a theme of this thread. Rather than address issues raised directly a game of deflection is played.

I stand by what I said. If any right wing nut job is warped enough to be revelling in how this evil mob are going about governing this country then they should do us all a favour and swing from their necks. I'd like to think we don't have any like that amongst us though :)

Mark - there are a lot of points that have been raised in that article, a lot of which I would imagine people not supporting the Gvmt would raise for debate as part of any run up to an election. Surely if the points are flawed or completely wrong it would be an easy task to show where the author is wrong and what the reality was? Shame that rather than debate those there does seem to be more of a desire to "mischief" make and deflect.

Re the NHS I suspect that will become a very hot topic as normal and close scrutiny of claims, pledges etc need to be made. I suspect there will be a lot of "ahhh but Labour ....." type replies which again have little to no relevance as they are not the ones in power at the moment. What is the betting that the Mail etc will try to make things into personality led (which certainly does seem to be a trait of the "right wing") i the coming months rather than discuss the real issues that affect the people of the UK?

On a totally different subject I would like to hear and see what the supporters of the Gvmt, and Right wing in general, views are on the hypocrisy surrounding the Nuclear reactor scheme announced yesterday with French and Chinese backing and the costs / charges that will come from that.

Finally, an actual subject to discuss.  Not sure where the hypocrisy comes in but new nuclear is a decidedly good thing providing clean, sustainable and long term energy.  If the problem is that the money to build and operate is coming from abroad I'm not sure why it's an issue? We don't have the money to build them ourselves at the moment and thanks to a two decade hiatus in serious energy policy planning, we urgently need the investment in energy infrastructure. Subsidising ever more wind farms won't keep the lights on so this seems like the only practical alternative that fits with de-carbonisation targets.
