johndunse
I'm just stunned that Stoke are getting themselves in a position to sign Palacios.....it will make them even more of a swine to play at their place.

VillaAlex
Muntari to Fulham. Inter fans are celebrating I'd love to see a midfield of Muntari and Sidwell for comedic purposes.

It makes perfect sense if he passes it and signs a play-as-you-pay, fantastic player if you can get him fit and playing.
Chindie Posted August 30, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted August 30, 2011 He's a gamble they can afford. They don't need to rely on him because of how many players they have ahead of him, allowing him to stay as fit as possible for when they might need him - most likely in January/February when the ACN comes round again and Yaya Toure buggers off for a month. Saying that, it's still a helluva gamble, he cannot stay fit. His knees are utterly, utterly ****. If there was a hope of him being reliable he'd still be at Manchester United. Yeah but, MC don't need to take a gamble do they? Villa could risk it, maybe Everton, Newcastle, QPR and other teams of that ilk might risk it. Man City have a squad full of shit-hot players without injury problems, why would they waste a shirt on him. Even fit, he's not as good as what they already have. Mental. Chindie Posted August 30, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted August 30, 2011 Well they've been trying to get another defensive midfield body in and seemed to be aiming for someone who might be happy to warm the bench or even just make up the numbers (but also still be very good - they went for van Bommel the other day, got rebuffed). I think Hargreaves matched what they wanted (injuries aside) and was an easy get, so they went for him knowing they don't need to rely on him. I think they just decided it was an easy move to make, and if comes off they're laughing. If they aren't, they've not really risked anything, and been able to get it done fast with little hassle. kurtsimonw
Never got the fuss with Hargreaves. Had a decent WC when England looked poor and that's about it. Never worth the money United paid.
