Ponky
Sounds like Mourinho has been doing some price-gouging...
AshVilla
Adebayor would be hilarious at Spurs and a liability imo Such a lazy player.
Mr_Dogg
Adebayor would be hilarious at Spurs and a liability imo Such a lazy player. At times he's as good as anyone, those times can be intermittent though. Forlan to join Inter for €6 million.
Zatman
All depends what Adebayor SPurs get, I hope they get the Real version who just kicked people in Champions LEague last season, that would be fun
Nigel Posted August 26, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted August 26, 2011 Forlan to join Inter for €6 million. That is an absolute steal!
GarethRDR
Fiorentina miss out on Cesare Bovo (**** you Genoa), but buy Mattia Cassani for €5m from Palermo instead.
drat01
:-) @ Wenger - 6 Million bid for Gary Cahill - I wonder how many milliseconds it took Coyle to reject that
TrentVilla Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 That is laughable although I'm sure it will have the desired effect of turning the players head. **** O'Neill.
makouns_grin
Will take nearer 15 imo, especially as everyone knows Wenger is minted now. Wenger is as useless as O'Neill at transfers.
TrentVilla Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 If Wenger really wants Cahill I can see Bolton taking him to the cleaners and asking for £20m and I think they would be well within their rights. If Henderson went for that figure I think they are entitled to ask it for Cahill especially in light of this piss taking offer. Wenger is in such a weak buying position it is untrue and Bolton could really take advantage.
omariqy
I can't believe I ever thought Curtis Davies was as good as Gary Cahill. Facepalm.
drat01
Absolutely Ash - I suspect that the players agent would not advise an acceptance of that either. As you say Wenger is royally screwed at the moment re buying and prices. He tried to play clever but it's back fired on him. Unless of course his board would not release funds until they had qualified for chumps league proper and the obscene monies that brings in
TrentVilla Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 I guess the other thing though is that Wenger was perhaps waiting to know if they had CL football as they would require a bigger squad. If they had gone into the Europa League he would have just played the kids.
drat01
Good point. What a bad place to get into though re Arsenal, after so many years champs league and they are still so dependent on the money for one season? I can see Man Utd totally dicking them this weekend (obviously now put your money on a Arsenal win), and Arsenal really struggling to get into the top 4 this year. Maybe MON can apply for the job :-) or DOL :-)
TrentVilla Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 I'm sure D'OL was watching the game the other night in his Arsenal pj's and polishing up his CV in the hope Wenger got the boot. Actually Drat Arsenal would be fine for a year or two without the CL money now, they are past that stage in their financial model for paying for the stadium but a couple of years ago it would have seriously hurt them. Zatman
Wasnt DOL doing punditry for this game the other night, am sure i saw him on Sky in last week doing a game. Such a word removed but he did sign a few good players for us
BOF Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 DOL was a pundit yes. Awful to hear him again. He had a decent eye for a purchase but was a shit coach and fell out with people so his 'decent eye' was **** all use once he got his claws into them. TrentVilla Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 Whatever plus points he had were always over shadowed by the fact he was a monumental arsehole.
BOF Posted August 26, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2011 Trent with the succinct version My word for DOL was always 'disingenuous'. It summed him up perfectly.
