Shillzz
Hopefully Torres will go to Chelsea. They are **** if he does, its why the reason he wont. For this season, Cerainly. But I think their squad is too reliant on 2 brilliant players. They might improve if they use the £50m and distribute it around the team a bit more evenly. wiggyrichard
Rumours are flying around that Torres had a £50m buy-out clause inserted when he signed his last contract extension. I hope he stays in the PL, love watching him play, best striker on the planet IMO when on form.

If he settles?

Shillzz
The lack of truely world class strikers on the planet at the moment is a bit of an oddity. Could probably count the amount of strikers you'd pay over £30m for on one hand. (Ok maybe not) The likes of Pato, Benzema, Rooney & Co are doing nothing to show that they're going to be the next Ronaldo, or David Villa. Jez
IMO Torres's all round game is better than Villa. When he was actually fit a few years back, maybe.
Shillzz
Difficult one, but it would have to go to Villa at the moent. Put them in the same Barcelona side and it would make for a fairer comparison. That said, Villa tends to perform better than Torres in the Spanish National team. At moment the top goalscorers in football Messi and Ronaldo are not strikers. Except for Villa their is no brilliant strikers out there. I do like Llorente and a move to a really big team might help get there to a top level. The only other top strikers for me are out of form in Forlan and Drogba

TrentVilla Posted January 28, 2011 Moderator Share Posted January 28, 2011 Sky Sports understands that Fernando Torres has asked Liverpool to consider selling him to Chelsea after a bid was rejected in the early hours of Friday morning. The Blues have been admirers of the Spain striker for some time and it has now emerged that they made an audacious attempt to sign him. The offer, believed to be around £35million, was immediately turned down by the Reds, who insisted Torres 'is not for sale'. Reports have claimed that Chelsea will return with an improved offer before Monday's deadline to further test Liverpool's resolve. And Sky Sports' Spanish expert Guillem Balague understands Torres has asked Liverpool to listen to Chelsea's bid. It is thought that Torres would like the opportunity to embark on a new challenge with the reigning Premier League champions after three-and-a-half years at Anfield. No release clause Liverpool have endured a disappointing past couple of seasons and Torres is keen to play for a club that is challenging for major honours. The final decision will rest with the Reds though, with Balague insisting there is no release clause in Torres' contract following suggestions that an offer of £50million would trigger a transfer. Liverpool have made their position clear and it remains to be seen whether Torres' apparent wishes will be taken into consideration. The 26-year-old has cut a forlorn figure at times this season but appears revitalised under new manager Kenny Dalglish and is returning to something approaching his best form. Chelsea are keen to partner him with Didier Drogba in what be a formidable strikeforce and Torres reportedly hopes the two clubs will start to negotiate. Zatman
Torres is a very good player when on his game but his legs have took a battering and his picking and choosing of games this year has made him slip down for me.
