Had day 4 tickets for this test. For 90 minutes this morning it seemed encouraging the game might last. 3 wicket collapse.again. Will.be bowled out for under 250 by 5pm. England to then bat and get a 150 -200 run lead by day 3 morning, windies to be bowled out by tea on day 3 give or take an hour.

The west indies have recovered a bit but are scoring at a slow rate on a good pitch.

Great catch by Root. Rodders prediction still looks pretty solid.

Somewhat unsurprisingly t is raining in Belfast with Ireland still 4 behind the Chervrons. But at least it is competitive and the lower-ranked test sides need to play more test series to help improve the quality. Maybe they should have a two-division league with a promotion/relegation system.

good win for Warwickshire in there second One Day Cup match.

Hammered Leicester Foxes by 8 wickets

Bowled them out for 88 and finished them off at 92/2 from 17.2 overs

That's two from two, an Impressive start to the campaign

115-5 to 282 is a pretty solid batting effort, but again they lose wickets in clusters.

76-0 to 115-5 and then 224-5 to 282 all out.

There's talent in that West Indies side, if only they could improve their temperament and concentration at key points they could have a solid side.

31/3 England now :o  Ironically think that's actually better for longer play. England will have to bat sensibly and with some caution and unlikely to get a big lead now. A bit self interested view on my behaldf there.

But poor wickets nevertheless to give away, but that'sa the trade off it seems

Windies 97/3 at lunch, can't see England having too many problems against this lot.

It's OK, they've lost the openers fairly cheaply, and a night watchman which backfired.

These 2 get through the early overs tomorrow though and we'll push on.

Root, Stokes and Smith batting well to have England just eleven runs behind with 7 down.

Woakes going well too.

It's a good competitive game.

Bar a collapse England should have a decent ish lead by the end of the first innings but they're not going to run away with this. Second innings will be in the balance.

Another great innings from Woakes providing solid support for Smith to move England into the lead. Such an under appreciated player.

West indies 2nd innings history this series don't bode well for a long fight.

I'd expect West indies to be 2 or 3 down tonight still in a deficit.

I'm sorry, Moeen Ali is totally washed up. Birmingham Phoenix need to look beyond him. They're just going to get smashed in every game in this series. Even when they get the opposition on the ropes they then collapse even worse.
